The first day of college wasn't going as planned. The girl stood nervously outside the building, trying to find her way when a group of boys surrounded her.

"Hey, new girl, lost?" one of them sneered, stepping too close.

"Look at her! Can't even carry her books properly," another added, mocking her.

"What's in your bag?" another teased, trying to grab it. They laughed, throwing mean comments her way, their voices getting louder as her heart pounded.

"Stop," she said, her voice shaking a bit, but they ignored her, mocking her more.

Suddenly, a voice cut through the chaos. "Leave her alone."

The boys paused, turning to see a guy walking up, his face serious. "I said, back off," he repeated, standing between her and them.. The bullies exchanged glances, muttering under their breath as they walked away.

"Idiots," the guy muttered before turning to her. "You alright?"

She nodded, still shaken. 

"You dropped these," he said softly, his voice gentle. As he looked up, she caught sight of a few distinct moles—one on his nose and another under his right eye. Her heart skipped a beat.

Could it be?

"Thanks," she mumbled, taking the flowers back, her heart racing for a different reason now.

"No problem, it's my first day too. I'm just glad I could help." he said, giving her a small smile. "Next time, don't let them get to you."

She smiled back, still feeling a bit off-balance. "I'll try."

With one last glance, he walked off, leaving her standing there, confused but strangely comforted.
