After finishing their shopping in Diagon Alley, Draco suggested a change of pace. “How about we take a break? There’s a beautiful lake not far from here. It might be a nice place to relax.”

Emma agreed, her spirits lifting at the thought of a peaceful escape from the busy day. They walked through the picturesque streets until they reached the serene lake, its surface shimmering under the afternoon sun.

Draco led Emma to a quiet spot by the water’s edge, where a gentle breeze rustled the trees. The scene was tranquil, and Emma felt a sense of calm wash over her as she sat down on a nearby bench.

Draco took a deep breath, his expression serious but hopeful. “Emma, there’s something I need to ask you.”

Emma looked up at him, her heart racing with a mix of anticipation and anxiety. “What is it, Draco?”

Draco knelt down in front of her, pulling out a small velvet box from his pocket. He opened it to reveal a delicate ring, its gemstone glinting in the sunlight. “Emma, I’ve grown to care about you deeply. I know we’ve been through a lot, but I want to spend my life with you. Will you marry me?”

Emma’s eyes widened with surprise and emotion. She looked at the ring, then back at Draco, her heart swelling with affection. “Yes, Draco. I would love to marry you.”

Draco’s face lit up with a mixture of relief and joy. He slid the ring onto her finger and kissed her hand gently. “I’m so glad. I promise I’ll do everything I can to make you happy.”

Emma smiled through her tears, feeling a sense of hope and renewal. “Thank you, Draco. This means so much to me.”

As they embraced, Emma’s thoughts briefly drifted to Draco’s parents. She pulled back slightly, a thoughtful expression on her face. “Draco, there’s something I need to ask. What about your parents? I know they were... not thrilled when we first met.”

Draco’s expression grew serious. “My parents... well, they’re not exactly supportive of our relationship. They have very traditional views and are particularly critical of Muggle-borns.”

Emma’s smile faltered slightly, her concerns growing. “Do you think they’ll accept us? I don’t want to cause problems between you and your family.”

Draco sighed, looking out over the lake as if searching for the right words. “It won’t be easy. They’ll likely resist the idea at first. But I’m willing to stand up to them for you. My priority is our future together, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make that work.”

Emma nodded, feeling a mix of relief and apprehension. “I understand. I just want us to be happy and to find a way to be together without constant conflict.”

Draco took her hand, squeezing it reassuringly. “We’ll face these challenges together. I’m committed to you and our future, no matter what obstacles come our way.”

Emma smiled, feeling more confident despite the uncertainties ahead. “Thank you, Draco. I’m ready to face whatever comes, as long as we’re together.”

They spent the rest of the afternoon by the lake, enjoying the peace and tranquility of their surroundings. With Draco’s promise and the strength of their bond, Emma felt a renewed sense of hope and determination as they prepared to navigate the challenges ahead.
