As dawn crept through the open windows, Alice was abruptly awakened by the sound of Albert's soft cough. She opened her eyes to find herself lying in his bed, a strange and disorienting sight. It took her a moment to realize that Albert must have moved her there the night before, as she had originally fallen asleep on a cushion near the window.
As Alice lay there on the bed, a moment of recognition passed across her features as she whispered, "Albert?"
From outside the bed, his footsteps softly padding closer. As her eyes adjusted to the light, she noticed that the bed curtains were pulled back, and there stood Albert. He was already dressed for the day, his hair combed neatly and his skin glowing with the freshness of a bath. Alice couldn't help but stare, her gaze lingering on his handsome features and the way his shirt clung to his body. As he turned to look at her, a faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.He flashed a faint smile as he spoke, "Good morning, the tailor arrived just in time."
Alice's anxiety bubbled up as she voiced her concern, "Good God, what if everyone finds out about what we did?"
Albert's reassuring chuckle filled the room as he took her hand and helped her stand, reassuring her, "Don't fret, love. Their lips are tightly sealed with gold." With a knowing grin, Albert grasped Alice's hand, his grip firm yet gentle, as he assisted her in rising from the bed. As she stood, her feet touching the cold hardwood floor.
With a determined look in her eyes, Alice stood before the tailor, eager to start the process of creating a new gown to replace the one Albert had torn apart the previous night. As she stood there, considering the motifs and colors befitting her station as a loyal subject of Mohn, she firmly instructed the tailor to focus on creating something modest and fast.
Alice selected a gown made of a lightweight, airy cloth. It had a modest, conservative cut that fell just below her ankle, and the gown was adorned with small, subtle details like a delicate, almost barely-there lace hem and a light pink hue that added a feminine touch. Over the gown, she draped a sheer, gauzy scarf in a soft, muted shade that provided a bit of added modesty and a touch of subtle elegance. On her feet, she wore a pair of simple, flat sandals. She wore her hair in a simple braid rather than an elaborate hairdo. Despite its understated beauty, she looked every bit the gracious and modest lady.
