Years had gone by since Alice had moved away from Pontevedra to the Mohn estate. During that time, Peter of Wode, once her lover and the real father of little Isabel, had become engaged to Lady Teresa, a high-ranking noblewoman. The situation surrounding Peter of Wode's engagement to Lady Teresa had become a source of curiosity and speculation in the town. The engagement had lasted for years now, causing many to question why the couple had not yet eloped. It seemed that Peter was constantly going from one war to another, keeping him away from the town and away from any thoughts of wedding. Perhaps there was a deeper reason for his continuous avoidances, some believed that Peter still harbored feelings for his past secret lover, a blonde foreigner from merchant class, even though she had vanished from town years ago due to mysterious reasons.

Despite the lengthy engagement, Peter of Wode was still able to enjoy the benefits of engaging to a highly noble family such as the family of Lady Teresa. In particular, this connection was crucial for someone of Peter's status, as he was born a bastard son and thus needed the union to gain full acceptance as the heir. This union would elevate his position in society and legitimize his status as the next in line to inherit his family's estate. Peter's position had now officially strengthened, thanks to the engagement to Lady Teresa. He was now the sole heir of Wode, which made him the sole ruler of Pontevedra, enjoying all the power and authority that came with the role.

Lady Beatrix, Peter's aunt from his father's side, had recently returned to her own estate after years of staying in Pontevedra. She had been the one to guide and raise Peter after the deaths of his father and older half-brother, as well as during his mother's absence, who was a woman of unidentifiable origin. In Peter's absence at war after war, it was his fiancée, Lady Teresa, who had taken up the role of ruler in Pontevedra.

The sun was relentless, casting a brilliant glow on the scene. Peter of Wode, with his raven hair and tall, muscular frame, rode astride his brown horse across the expanse of the battlefield. His body was encased in intricately made armor, the metal gleaming in the harsh sunlight that made him look every inch the warrior he was, he rode with a regal air, his eyes shining like golden beacons in the bright light of the day.

As the Irmandine Wars raged through Galicia including Pontevedra, some of the lower classes, including peasants, townspeople, and lower nobility, rose against the rule of the higher lords. Led by a Brotherhood, these rebels sought to overthrow the system of power by the ruling classes. They targeted the fortified castles including Wode Castle, symbols of the feudal lords' power, and destroyed numerous strongholds in their quest for change. Meanwhile, Peter of Wode had been protecting the borders while his fiancée, Lady Teresa, ruled in his absence as usual.

As Peter charges through the battlefield, sword in hand, his thoughts weave between the chaos around him and the memories that haunt him. Peter, silently to himself:

"I should be dead by now. I've faced countless blades, yet I endure... Why do I keep surviving? What's left for me here?"

He parries an attack with effortless precision, his movements mechanical, driven more by instinct than intent. Peter, grimacing as he strikes down an opponent:
