We were walking back down the staircase out of the shrieking shake, Harry and Sirius were helping Ron who in my opinion was being way to dramatic for his own good.

I was walking behind Professor Lupin who was dragging Peter Pettigrew who was begging him not to have him killed. I was angry and upset, I didn't think this man deserved to live a moment longer than he already was, but of course Harry had the final say in the matter.

I emerged out of the small space under the large tree that I came to terms with never actually finding out what kind of tree it was. I took a deep breath of the fresh air that smelt of pine and grass a stark contrast to the dirty dusty room I had been in moments ago.

I walked passed Ron who was sitting on the ground trying to convince Hermione, who was knelt by his side that his leg would have to be amputated, I saw Harry and Sirius standing off ahead looking up at the castle discussing something.

I felt a small pang of disappointment in my chest as I watched the two interact. Now I knew that Sirius was our godfather and he wasn't a serial killer, I wanted to meet him properly, talk to him, get to know him, but he seemed preoccupied with Harry currently, so I stayed back brushing off the thought, considering the possibility I'm making it a bigger deal than it is.

Peter Pettigrew snapped me out of my thoughts as he began begging everyone around him not to send him to the dementors, even making some excuse about how he's been a good pet to Ron, like he didn't bite him an hour ago.

Remus pulled him away and I sat down on next to Ron looking at his leg, I knew him and Hermione were both questioning my decision to not be with Harry and Sirius right now, but I didn't meet their gazes unable to describe how I was currently feeling.

I noticed Hermione's gaze begin to drift, as a look of realisation crossed her face before she called out.

"Harry" she yelled pointing out into the distance.

Harry turned following to where she was pointing just as I did,  we both noticed the full moon, instantly understanding the sticky situation we found ourselves in, guess my old DADA teacher was right after all.

Harry ran over to us and Sirius ran over to Lupin, what he was saying became irrelevant to me as I noticed Pettigrew lean down and pick up Lupins wand that was now laying on the floor. Harry quickly tried to disarm him but I could tell it was too late as he began to shrink and he grew rat like features. Before I knew it all that was left was a pile of clothes and that stupid rat climbing out of them.

I ran forwards pulling my arm away from Hermione as she attempted to grab me, I wasn't going to let this little fucker get away this easily.

I heard Harry call out for me but  ignored it as I chased the rat down the hill, although I soon lost him in the long grass. I kept running down in frustration scanning everything in front of me, determined to find him, although apparently I failed to see the massive boulder that was right there. The last thing I remembered was falling face first over the rock and down the hill.

My eyes fluttered open, I could tell it was late in the evening by how dim it was in the room, I was quite unaware of what was happening and why I was laying in the infirmary. I looked around seeing Harry on the bed next to me, Ron in a bed on the other side of the room and professor Snape and Madam Pomfrey standing in the middle of the room quietly discussing something seemingly important.
