"Zelda hurry upp we're gonna be late!" Malon yelled to Zelda, who was still getting ready as Malon awaited her at the bottom of the stairs.
"5 more minutes!" Zelda yelled back as she hurriedly tied her hair up. They were midway through the year and she still couldn't get ready on time. She hastily grabbed her stuff and ran down the stair almost tripping in the process.
Malon had gone to wait in the car so Zelda grabbed a Pop Tart and ran out the door.
7:37 AM was what the clock on her phone read. School started at 7:45 and they were a good 10 minute drive away from it so they were cutting it close. She jumped into the car and Malon sped off out the driveway.
Malon was Zelda's best friend. They had bonded so much since the start of the school year that she felt more like a sister than a friend. They would go to and from school together every day even though Malon lived 20 minutes away just because Zelda didn't have a car.
"Jesus Zel, do you have to take a trillion years every morning to get ready?" She asked with sarcasm in her tone. Zelda simply ignored her as she studied herself in the mirror. She struggled immensely with insecurity, even though her friends always claimed she had nothing to worry about. They had joked with her saying that 'you could literally wake up and head straight to school without getting ready at all and you'd be the most gorgeous in the school'.
Zelda had laughed at how obnoxious that sounded. Her friends were 10x more gorgeous she could even dream of being in her eyes. She had to spend 30 minutes getting ready every day just for her to feel half as pretty as they were.
They finally pulled up to the school parking lot at 7:46 and Malon jumped out the car and ran to school saying, "See ya 3rd hour Zel!" Zelda also got out in a hurry and rushed to her locker. But with her head down in a rush, she bumped into someone, dropping some of her books in the process. She looked up to see a teenage boy who looking back at her. She hadn't recognized him and came to the conclusion he must have been new. At first he seemed annoyed, but his gaze softened as he looked into her eyes.
He has sharp, blue eyes and a defined jawline. He was taller than her, though only by an inch or so. He had small but noticeable scars along his face. His long, sandy blonde, hair was tied up in ponytail in the back. She found herself blushing as she realized she had been staring at him far too long.
"I-I'm so sorry," she stuttered, "I'm in a rush." She bent down to start grabbing the books she had dropped when bumping into him, but he beat her to it and grabbed them for her.
Touched by his act, she accepted when he handed them to her. "T-Thank y-you." She whispered while looking into his eyes. He only gave her a brief smile that made her heart melt and was on his way. She followed him with her gaze until she realized she was still late! She rushed to her locker, making sure to not bump into anyone else.
After finally making it to her first class, Geometry, the teacher scoffed as she walked in, 6 minutes late. "Nice of you to join us Zelda." He grumbled. "Sorry Mr. Deku." She said quickly as she sat down next to Midna and Mipha.
"I was beginning to think you wouldn't show up." Midna teased.
"Oh, hush I got sidetracked." Zelda replied while rolling her eyes. "Do you guys know of a new guy? Long, blonde hair, blue eyes?" Zelda whispered to them both.
"Why got a crush on the new kid?" Midna said with a grin on her face.
"Actually we did see someone like that while we walked in this morning. He's hot." Mipha said.
"Yea I bumped into him as I was trying to rush to class. He caught me staring at him but then he helped pick up my books and walked off." Zelda said quickly, hoping she didn't sound as flustered and she felt.
"Ouuuu Zelda has a crushhh." They both said in sync.
"Ughhhh."

The day had gone by quick and now Zelda was about to go to 5th hour, which she hated. It was civics and the teacher didn't know how to do his job. He would just put a presentation on the board and read from it then give a test on that. And she had no friends in that class. So as usual, she dreaded going to that class.
All day she had been thinking about the new kid. Every girl by now had caught a glimpse of him and he was the talk of the school. Everyone gushing over how fine he was. So she was internally happy that he took the time to help her with her books and even smile at her. Even if he didn't say a word.
As she walked into class she sat in her usual spot in the back corner since she had no friends in this class. The only people in here were people she would never talk to, like the popular girls, or Ganondorf and his asshole friends. They had flirted with her for the beginning of the year, but after she rejected them all multiple times they started to bully her. She didn't mind though. It was one class and Ganondorf and his friends only kept it to small comments every once in a while now.
Class began and about 10 minutes later there was a knock on the door. Mr. Raryu got up to get the door and in came the new boy. The boy she and as well as the whole school was thinking about all day.
"Oh, I haven't seen you here. Are you new?" Mr, Raryu asked him but he received no reply. "Not much of a talker eh?" to which he received a couple laughs from the students.
Link kept walking towards Zelda and she expected him to sit anywhere but next to her. But he took the open seat next to Zelda in the corner of the room. As he sat down he flashed Zelda a quick grin, recognizing her, and plopped his notebook onto his desk.
"I wouldn't even bother writing down notes in this class. All he does is read the same presentation over and over and its posted online." Zelda whispered to him as she noticed him writing down some notes.
"Oh okay." he replied. SHE GOT HIM TO TALK. Yes it had only been two words but that was a start. She felt her heart flutter at the sound of his voice, longing to hear it again.
"My names Zelda by the way." She said now facing him.
"Link." He replied as he looked back at her.
