Fight Day

Fight day was here. Link has been preparing for this for a year and he wasn't about to waste his shot. The training day in and day out was finally going to pay off. Today was the first part of the tournament. He would have to beat two fighters in order to advance to the semifinals tomorrow. But Link was confident in his ability to easily make it there.

His biggest worry however was Ganon. He wasn't scared of him as a fighter, but he was scared in his ability to cheat him out of this win he's been desperately training for. Just like he did last year.

On another note, him and Zelda were on great terms. She didn't know about his living arrangements and frankly, he didn't want to tell her right now. But they have spent more time together as of recently and have grown way closer. They weren't "dating" yet but Link felt as if they were. She was supposed to be here today but he would just have to wait and see if she actually showed up.

But right now he needed to focus. His first match was in an hour and he now sat in his locker room, letting Daruk wrap his hands.

"You ready for this little guy?"

"As I'll ever be." Link replied, his eyes just staring ahead.

"Let's fucking do this then."

"Fuck," Link growled under his breath as he took a fist to his jaw. He stumbled back slightly but quickly regained his balance and squared up again.

His opponent, Groose, laughed tauntingly seeing that he hurt him. He lunged at Link for another attack but Link dodged it this time, weaving under his swing and sending a punch straight to his gut.

Groose winced in pain but before he knew it, he was hit with another strike from under his chin. This force made him fall back and onto the canvas. The small crowd cheered and Link gave him his own taunting smile.

"C'mon!" Link yelled at him as he lay dazed in the middle of the ring.

Groose groaned and slowly got up as the referee started his count. "One! Two! Three! Four!" He managed to beat the count, and stood up once again. Link knew this fight was over but he wasn't taking his foot off the gas. The second the referee gave him the signal, he attacked again.

He moved like he was one with the air around him, swift and quick, hitting his opponent before he even had a chance to react. "Now Link!" he heard Daruk yell from his corner. Link dodged another tired punch from him and put all his power into a final punch that connected with Groose's jaw.

That was the one and with that hit, Groose dropped onto the canvas, sending the crowd into a frenzy. The ref checked Groose and waved off the fight, signaling Link had won. Daruk ran out of the corner and shoved Link.

"Good shit kid!" He yelled proudly.

Link laughed and waved him off nonchalantly as the refferee grabbed him and Groose's hands. "And your winner by K.O is......Link Wild!" He raised Link's hand and he pumped his fist in the air as the crowd cheered. As he did so, he spotted Zelda jumping up and down from her seat with her friend next to her, laughing and cheering.

Everyone made their way out of the ring and Daruk led Link back to the locker room to get his wrap removed and to rest for the next fight in 2 hours. Before he even got a chance to sit down, Zelda burst through the door and jumped onto him, hugging him and wrapping her legs around his waist.

She squealed and her friend looked amused as she slowly walked in after her. "Link you did so good!" Zelda exclaimed as she proceeded to pepper him with kisses. He wrapped his arms around her middle and returned her kisses eagerly.
