"I was just out with some friends." Link said as he tried to walk past his father.
His father stood in his way, "Oh really? All day?"
"Why the fuck do you care?"
"Don't fucking speak to me like that or I'll beat your ass just like I always do." he slurred.
Link proceeded to forcefully walk through his father to his room. He was trying desperately to control himself but he was on the brink of losing it.
His father laughed behind him, "You were definitely with some slut all day if you're acting all secretive," he taunted, "your mother would be sooo proud."
"Don't talk about my mom."
"Or what tough guy?"
Link lost it. He dropped his things and turned around to charge at his father. He swung first, hitting his father in the jaw and making him stumble backward into the kitchen counter.
"You fucking pussy, you're pathetic. No wonder you lost state last year, you can barely throw a punch."
Link said nothing but swung at him again, this time in his ribs. "Shut up."
His father laughed again, "CMON! SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!" He put his hands up and drunkenly swung at Link.
Link dodged his attack with ease and hit him 2 more times in the face. Then he swung with all his energy and hit his father's nose.
His father brought a hand to his nose and felt the blood pouring out of it. "You are no son of mine. I must be cursed by the Goddesses to have been given this pathetic excuse for a son," he laughed again.
Link, deciding he'd had enough, went into his room and packed his things into his bag. He packed everything, only leaving behind his trophies from over the years, all while his father taunted him from the kitchen.
Link grabbed his bag made his way to the front door. "Don't come crawling back to me bitch!" He heard his father scream as he slammed the door shut.
Truthfully, Link didn't have anywhere to stay. He could go to the gym, but what after that? So he decided to just take it one step at a time and drove his bike to Daruk's.

It was now 9:46. Link had still not called Zelda and she had already texted him twice. She was beginning to think he had forgotten and just went to sleep when she felt her phone buzz.
"Hey, sorry for not texting u but I can't ft tn."
"Oh, its ok"
"I'm sorry Zelda. Something came up."
"It's okay. Sleep well."
"U too."
Zelda fought the urge to throw her phone across the room. She curled up in her blankets and laud on the side of the bed that Link was lying on not just a couple of hours ago.
She was saddened that he couldn't call her, but she knew he had to have had a good reason. So she just turned on her TV and mindlessly scrolled through shows on Netflix. She remembered that she hadn't really watched Breath of the Wild while she was with Link, so she turned it on.
She didn't get to finish it, again, because she was soon asleep.

The next day Link showed up to school late, around 3rd hour. He had stayed the night at Daruk's and after explaining what was going on, Daruk allowed him to sleep in the spare room that used to be his office.
It was old and had papers scattered across a desk and a single lamp to light up the room. The only place to sleep being a small couch in the corner of the room. Link didn't mind however. He just wanted to be anywhere but at his house.
He decided he wasn't going back there. He was 17 and turning 18 in the coming months. Until then, he would just beg Daruk to let him stay there.
He got barely any sleep that night, hence him showing up late to school. And he slept through biology and English until it was time for 5th hour.
He felt bad for bailing on Zelda with their whole facetime thing the night before. But he had just had a fist fight with his dad and left his home so he wasn't exactly in the mood.
Still, as he walked in and saw her make eye contact with him, he felt like an asshole. She didn't give him her usual smile as he walked to his seat. He glanced in the direction of Ganon's seat and saw that he wasn't there today. Neither were his friends.
Zelda glanced at him as he sat down next to her, but continued writing in her notebook. She noticed the new bruises on his face but just thought they must have been from the fight the day before. A couple minutes of silence between them passed before he spoke.
"I'm sorry for not calling you last night." he said with his head down.
"It's fine." she mumbled, still focusing on her work.
He decided to let her be because she was obviously annoyed with him. So they sat in silence until class was over. The bell rang and she wordlessly got up and walked out of class before he even had a chance to pack his things.
He sighed and hoped that she wouldn't be too angry with him tomorrow. He would have to call her tonight to make it up to her.
So for the rest of the day he just went about his day until school ended and he made his way to Daruk's.
"Hey little guy." Daruk said as he saw Link enter through the front door. "Hey Daruk."
"So, with this whole thing with your dad, how long do you wanna stay here?" he said with a look of empathy on his face.
"As long as you'll let me. I can't get an apartment until I'm 18 which is in a couple months so I need to find a place to stay until then." Link replied with his head down, his right arm scratching the back of his neck.
"All good with me Link." Daruk said with a soft smile.
Link nodded and headed to the room he slept in last night. He plopped onto the couch and pulled out his phone.
