"So what do you do for fun?" Zelda asked Link while waiting for their food to be ready.
"I'm a boxer, so I'm usually just training in the gym. I play some video games here and there but thats pretty much it." Link responded.
"Oh yea I saw some of your pictures on your instagram page. Your accomplishments are really impressive!" Zelda squeaked. 'Great job Zelda, now it looks like you're stalking him,' she thought to herself.
"Thank you. What about you?" he asked her.
"Um, I like to read a lot. I'm always in the library after school if I'm not hanging out with my friends." She replied, a little nervous that he would see her as a nerd now.
"That's cool, I used to read a lil bit. Mainly stuff about the Hero of Time from all those years ago. But I got too much stuff going on now." Link said. Zelda was surprised someone like him liked to read.
"I'm also big into history and all that so I know all about the Hero Of Time as well," she smiled, happy they had something in common. "My last name is Hyrule, so my ancestors are believed to be related to the founders of Hyrule."
"So you're a princess huh?" Link laughed, and she playfully slapped him on his arm.
"Far from it." She replied with a smile.
"I mean you look like one, and you have the last name so I don't see why not." Link said, looking into her emerald eyes and realized she was blushing.
"I-I...maybe I don't know." She replied while tangling her fingers in her hair.
"Alright love birds your food's here." The lady from the counter, to whom Zelda told Link was Urbosa, said as she put their food on the table.
"Thank you Urbosa." Zelda said as she started to put ketchup on her hotdog. Urbosa eyed her, then Link, then replied, "Anytime Zel," with a wink.
They both started to eat in silence until Zelda heard Link chuckling to himself.
"What are you laughing at?" She asked, obviously.
"You have some ketchup on your face, here." He said as he reached over the table with a napkin to wipe the ketchup off the side of her lip. They made eye contact the whole time and Zelda couldn't tell what he was thinking behind those, sharp blue eyes.
But she couldn't ponder long because she was already flustered again. "T-thank you." She whispered, looking down to conceal her blush.
"Anytime." Link replied with a smile. He didn't smile unless it was with her. Link didn't know why, but she was different. She made him feel like nothing else in the world mattered.
And Zelda also noticed that she hadn't see him smile at all at school unless it was with her. In 5th hour or when they stole glances at each other during lunch.
It made her feel special that she could get someone like him to smile. Even if only for a little bit.
They rambled on and on until they were done eating and Zelda told Link she had to get going. But before she could leave Link said something else.
"Wait Zelda," he started as she was getting up to leave, "I know it's not for a month but, would you maybe want to come to my next tournament? It's state so I've been preparing for the last year and I want you to be there, if you want." He said, looking down at his feet as he did so.
"Oh of course Link! It'd be fun to see you in action. I'll be there," She replied faster than she should have.
"Okay!" Link said trying to conceal how happy he was. "I'll text you the details later." He stated as he walked out the door.
