Of Course

It had been a week or so since Link transferred. One too many fights at his last school and they finally kicked him out. It wasn't the first time so it didn't bother him.

This first week at KHS was pretty much the same as the last, 'first week' at his last school. Link barely talking to anyone, girls gushing over him, and him just waiting for the day to be over.

Though one girl stayed on his mind the whole week. Zelda. The girl who bumped into him on his first day. He'd instantly knew he'd never seen anyone more gorgeous than her in his whole life. The way her big, green eyes stared back at him. Her round face and her gorgeous smile. Her long, golden hair. Her wide hips. She was perfect. And they even had a class together.

He could tell from their first interaction that she must've at least thought he was good looking. But he knew deep inside that once she got to know him, she wouldn't see him that way anymore. He knew a girl like her shouldn't be with someone like him.

But that didn't stop him from talking to her during 5th hour, or glancing her way when he saw her at lunch.

But it was the weekend now and with nothing else to do, he mindlessly scrolled on Instagram. His dad was gone for the weekend. 'Thank the Goddesses' he thought to himself. But as he was scrolling he found a picture of a girl in his biology class, Midna, taking a selfie with Zelda at the movies. The caption read :love my night outs with @zeldahyrule.

He couldn't resist so he tapped on the mention and scrolled through Zelda's profile. She didn't post much, but when she did she looked phenomenal. Link scrolled through every last picture until he decided to follow her.

After about 20 minutes he received a notification of her following him back. And then another of her liking some of his posts.

The only things Link posted were his boxing matches. His first post was his very first win when he was 13. He remembers that like it was yesterday. How it felt to hold up the trophy presented to him. And his mom and dad hugging him and telling him how proud they were.

His most recent was from the state championship of last year. He came second but only after beating 5 other people in the tournament. His final opponent, Ganondorf, managed to beat him by playing dirty. The referee didn't seem to notice him blatantly hitting him while he was down, or kneeing him in the chest.

He knew it was rigged, but it still felt like he failed. The post consisted on one picture: Link in the ring, his face beat up and blood dripping from his face from a cut on the side of his temple. No caption.

He knew he had to win it all this year. The tournament was in 4 weeks and he had been training all year for this.

He decided he needed to head to the gym to get his mind off things. He put on a gray hoodie and some sweatpants and left to house.

He drove a black motorcycle, which his mom used to hate. He loved the feelings of the wind on him as he drove. Putting on his helmet, he started his bike and drove to the gym.

He had been going to this same gym since he was 12. It felt more like home than anywhere else for him. Sometimes he would come here just to get away from his dad. And he had once slept here with the permission of the owner, Daruk, who felt more like a father than his own.

He trained for a couple hours. Running on the treadmill and sparring with some of the other amateur boxers who came here. He won them all with ease, but he enjoyed the practice. He was kind of a legend here. His countless tournament wins displayed on the wall, even his state runner-up from the year prior. So the new boxers would always try to see if they could beat him.

He took a shower in the locker room and decided he was starving. It was 6:30pm so headed to the nearest diner to grab something to eat. There was a place called, Urbosa's Fury, nearby so he decided to try it out.

As he walked in though he saw a familiar face standing in line. Zelda stood there, in blue tank top and cream colored shorts. She was tapping her foot on the ground as if she was annoyed with how long the person in front of her was taking.

Link couldn't help but chuckle at the sight as we walked up to the line. She turned around as he took the place behind her in line and she looked surprised.

"Oh, hey Link." She smiled.

Of course she was here while I looked like a homeless person, Link thought to himself.

"Hey Zelda," he started, "what're u doing here?"

"Getting food I think, if this guy in front of me decides to pick something." She whispered, exaggerating her annoyance while she smiled at Link still.

Link laughed and she giggled as well. "Is this place any good? First time." Link explained.

"Oh it's amazing. The lady who runs it is my aunt and I come here whenever I can." She replied before finally noticing that the guy in front of her had ordered eventually.

"Zelda dear, the usual?" the lady at the counter asked her, with a wink.

"You know me." Zelda replied with a smile. She reached in her purse to grab the money to pay, but before she could, Link had placed 20 dollars on the counter.

"It's on me." He stated without looking at Zelda, instead at the lady behind the counter.

"L-Link you don't have too-" Zelda tried to say, with her cheeks flushed red before Link cut her off.

"It okay I promise. And I'll just have a burger with some fries." Link said to the lady who was eyeing them both suspiciously.

"Okay...will that be all for you two?" She said, looking at Zelda.

"Y-yes." was all she managed to get out. Link just payed for her food and made it seem as if they were on a date, in front of her aunt.

Not that she minded it or anything but the thought made her stomach twist.

"Alright it'll be out shortly." She said quickly as she walked into the kitchen.

"Link seriously you didn't have too. Here take this." She said, still flustered, as she tried to hand him some money to pay for her food. But he grabbed her hand and pushed it back towards her. That small act made Zelda's feet feel numb.

"And I'm serious Zelda, I wanted to pay." He said with a small smile forming at the corner of his lips.

"Okay," she started as she put the money back into her purse, "Would you like to sit with me?" Her voice came off so quietly that Link almost didn't hear her.

"Of course."
