NO ONE'S POV

Weeks have passed, and the closeness between Aiah and Mikha has grown.

There are times that they hang out, just the two of them, lalo na when Mikha doesn’t want to entertain her friends' loudness.

She’ll be chilling at her spot, at biglang susulpot si Aiah.

Aiah already knows how to read Mikha’s mood—if she wants alone time or just simply enjoys solitude, kaya Aiah knows when Mikha wants a quiet surrounding or what.

Alam n'ya kung kailan s'ya pwede mag-ingay or just simply accompany Mikha without saying anything.

"Hey, lowbat ba ang social battery ni Mikha Lim?" Aiah asked as she sat beside Mikha, whose eyes were focused on a book she was holding.

Mikha just nodded and didn’t bother to reply, continuing to read.

Aiah already knew that Mikha wasn’t in the mood to talk, kaya she also did her own thing without bothering her.

They just sat in silence, but Aiah couldn’t help stealing occasional glances at Mikha.

Mikha eventually finished reading and noticed Aiah’s occasional glances.

She put her book down and turned to Aiah, saying.

"You keep looking at me, may sasabihin ka ba?"

Aiah blinked, slightly caught off guard.

"Wala naman, alangan daldalin kita eh nag babasa ka." Aiah replied with a sheepish smile.

Mikha raised an eyebrow.

"Well, kung tititigan mo lang ako, might as well join me in reading or leave me alone dahil may iba ka rin naman gawain."

Aiah chuckled and leaned back against the rooftop railing.

"Hmm, I think I’ll pass on the reading part. I like watching you better and besides here oh, I'm doing something din." Aiah replied and waved her laptop.

Mikha gave her an unimpressed look, but the corner of her lips twitched into a small smirk.

Hindi n'ya alam kung anong trip ni Aiah.

"You're weird, Arceta."

"Maybe." Aiah replied, shrugging. "But you're still here hanging out with me, hindi mo'ko masyadong tinataboy."

Mikha rolled her eyes but didn't deny it.

She shifted her position slightly, letting the cool rooftop breeze flow through her red hair.

"Do you always come up here to recharge?"

Aiah asked, breaking the silence, hindi n'ya mapigilan mag tanong kahit alam n'ya naman ang sagot, gusto n'ya lang may mapag usapan sila and also to know what's running on Mikha's mind.

Mikha nodded.

"You're asking na parang hindi ka pa nasanay but yes, It's the only place where no one really bothers me... well, except you." She glanced at Aiah with a hint of a smile.

Aiah grinned.

"Lucky me, then, dahil exception ako?"

Mikha just shook her head with a soft chuckle. "Yeah, I guess you are."

Neither of them said anything more, both enjoying the quiet lalo na si Aiah na who's silently praying na huwag marinig ni Mikha ang kabog ng dibdib n'ya.
