Chapter Seven (sequel??)

The aftermath of Izuku's dissolution caused controversy across the entirety of UA. Not only did the students grieve, but even the teachers who showed no interest in the boy cared for his passing. They all wondered to themselves what they did wrong, how they didn't notice, and why he didn't speak up. However, all of those questions remained unanswered.

[17-09-2022; The day of Deku's Death]

It was midnight, everyone was sound asleep. Nobody was aware of what was coming. Through their peaceful sleep, was the tragic loss of Izuku Midoriya. However, Bakugo couldn't sleep that night, he was unable to shake off a dreadful feeling. He brings himself out of his bed, frustrated at his inability to sleep. He drags himself outside, breathing in the cold, midnight air, letting it flow through his hair. He decides to take a walk, in an attempt to clear his mind.

As Bakugo walks, he still cannot shake that feeling off. He eventually comes across his old middle school, reliving majority of his memories there by just looking at it. Before he turns to leave, he looks over at the ground a few feet away from him, where he sees Deku's lifeless body.

He runs towards the scene without a second thought, tears welling up in his eyes in disbelief. His chest begins to tighten as his heart starts racing. He manages to dial out the numbers of their local emergency service; 119.

"Hello, what is your emergency?" The voice of a woman is heard through the phone.

Bakugo goes to reply, only to find himself unable to speak, a knot formed in his throat as he tries to choke out the words.

"A-ALDERA JUNIOR ..HIGH. I-I NEED HELP, HURRY UP MORON" Bakugo chokes out through sobs.

"Ambulance, fire or police" The woman says, unfazed by Bakugo's angry cry for help.

"WHAT? AMBULANCE YOU DAMN IDIOT. HURRY UP" Bakugo yells through the phone, frustrated at the lack of urgency he's receiving.

"Mhm okay, I have dispatched an ambulance to your location." The woman speaks in a monotone voice.

"TELL THEM TO HURRY UP, I DON'T HAVE ALL DAMN NIGHT." Bakugo cries as he cradles Izuku in his embrace, unable to care about his clothes getting bloody.

Finally, after what felt like years, the ambulance arrives. The paramedics all pile out of the van, rushing to Deku's side. They pull out their equipment.

"You're going to have to let go of the boy." One of the male paramedics spoke.

"N-NO..Not again.." Bakugo replied, fighting the breakdown he's experiencing.

"You have to. This isn't a choice." The male paramedic speaks again, more firm and demanding.

Bakugo finally cooperates, and gently places Deku on the ground before getting up and holding his chest. He can feel his heart practically beating out of his chest, as his lungs feel like they're inflating. Suffocating him. The paramedics speak up, hesitating.

"I'm sorry..but he's gone. There's nothing we can do." One paramedic speaks up.

"N-no! What?? TRY HARDER. YOU GUYS CANT EVEN DO Y-YOUR JOB??" Bakugo pleads angrily.

"I'm sorry young man, but there's absolutely nothing we can do." They reply once again, before getting up and packing up and letting the police come.

The night gradually becomes morning, where Bakugo has had endless interrogations with police, no sleep, and not a moment where he hasn't been crying. He locks himself in his room, devastated. Many thoughts impale his mind, many questions, many apologies. He wishes he could apologise to Deku in person. He knows what he did caused it, and therefore he could not live with himself for that. He sees how devastated everyone is, and only blames himself. He ponders on the meaning of his life, wondering what's left for him. How can he be a hero if he practically killed someone? How can he live with himself for practically murdering the love of his life? Even if he didn't do it physically, he played a part in it. Before thinking another thought, Bakugo reaches for the gun under his bed.

Boom.
