Stonepaw padded awkwardly next to Tiger. He had never gotten used to her having frequent stomach aches and him taking the lead. "Stop here," Tiger meowed. Stonepaw skidded to a stop. "What are we going to do here?" he asked. "I am going to rest while you hunt," she laid down on the rock, leaving Stonepaw with no choice but to hunt for her. "Catch us some prey, wild cat!" Tiger yelped mockingly. Stonepaw felt irritation stings his pelt like hornets, but he pushed it away. "Yes, your majesty," he groaned, looking back at Tiger with admiration glinting in his eyes. Even if she was a stubborn, headstrong cat, he really did care for her. Tigers eyes softened. "Thanks, Stonefoot. For everything," she meowed. Stonepaw dipped his head and trotted off, his heart beating fast as he thought of the look Tiger gave him. Stonepaw was so dreamy that he didn't notice the waterfall coming up. Of course it is a thundering noise, but Stonepaw was deft by love. Suddenly, one of Stonepaw's paws slipped. Letting out an earsplitting screech, he tumbled into the waterfall. Cold surged through him and his vision was blurred. Then, Stonepaw heard the scream of Tiger and everything went black.
Stonepaw's eyes flickered open and gazed into the worried expression of Tiger. "He's awake!" she called. The noise of rushing water pounded against his ears. Stonepaw looked around and realized that he was in a cave. A powerful tabby with mud-streaked fur padded up to the two cats. "Tiger," Stonepaw meowed feebly, "there's a cat. Look behind you." Tiger looked back at the cat but didn't seem surprised. "Greetings, I am The Teller of Pointed Stones. You may call me Stoneteller," he meowed formally. "I swam down the waterfall and dragged you around. A cat called Bird took us to Stoneteller and he said we could stay while you recovered," Tiger meowed, gazing up at Stoneteller with warmth in her aqua eyes. Stonepaw felt hot jealousy scorch his pelt. "So, what," he muttered. "So...would you like to stay?" Tiger answered like she was asking the obvious. "I guess I have no choice," he murmured. "Oh come on, Stonefoot; you'll get used to it!" "Wait! You mean like forever." "Yeah, forever. I was going to ask Stoneteller about it later." "Why would we stay!" Stonepaw exclaimed. "Wasn't it your wish to go to the mountains," Tiger mewed, "You will get as strong as possible here." Stonepaw sighed, then nodded. "Ask him." Tiger shot him a glare as she padded away. "Not like it was your choice, I was going to ask anyways with or without you," she sneered. Stonepaw felt shattered. "You wouldn't really do that," he called out quietly to himself.
