The patrol neared the lake and Stonerise heard something rustling in the bushes. Stonerise whipped around to see the tip of a tail. They others had seen it too and were now creeping up around the bushes. Berrynose sniffed the air and grimaced. "Smells like fish and water," he remarked. "RiverClan?" Blossomfall suggested. Firefly shook her head, "Definitely not RiverClan." On Stonerise's cue, the patrol burst through the bushes and neared the lake. There were some dislodged gravel and the fishy smell, but no cats. The patrol shrugged. "You'll have to report that to Bramblestar," Morningrose meowed. Stonerise nodded distractedly. There was something about that scent. Something familiar...  "Oh, Stonerise while you were away I went in a fox hunt," Blossomfall started.  "Not this again," Berrynose grumbled, giving the she-cat a shove.  "Anyway, I went on the fox hunt and there were feathers all over the scene.  I was with Rosepetal and Brackenfur.  So, there were blood and feathers everywhere.  We were really confused on what kind of feathers they were.  Some were wight, some were black, some were orange and brown and gray.  So while we were observing the feathers, something latched on to my back.  I screamed so loudly that I thought all of StarClan heard it.  Then, I noticed something.  First off, the "fox" was on my back.  Second off, it was giggling mischievously.  Turns out, Larkkit, Glowkit, and Pheonixkit were rolling around in fox-dung to try to scare us.  Oh, did we have a laugh," Blossomfall smiled.  "Nobody cares," Morningrose grumbled.  "I've heard that story a million times!  And Larkpaw, Glowpaw, and Pheonixpaw are all really embarrassed with you telling the story all the time," Firefly snapped.  "Let's get back to camp," Berrynose flicked his tail dismissively.  The patrol continued to pad back.  "I liked your story," Stonerise whispered to Blossomfall.  She smiled and looked at him apologetically.  They slipped through the entrance of the camp and Stonerise trotted up the path to Bramblestar's den.  He saw Rosepetal and Berrynose purring and speaking with each other.  Maybe that's why he was uncomfortable with Poppyfrost, because they were no longer mates. "Bramblestar?" Stonerise called into the den. "Come in," Bramblestar meowed. "We had some trouble with the patrols," Stonerise started.
