Soooo... while you guys wait for an update, I decided to make a compilation of headcanons that I have no idea how to mention in the fic, as a way to give little extra details to the boys and other characters, including MC.
It's worth mentioning that I found some of these on Tumblr or Discord.
Headcanons are both current and future in the story :D

RANDOM HEADCANONS:
- Splinter gave the boys absolutely no information about gender norms and raised them to know men and women as complete equals. Because of this, they have no idea about gender norms.
Example: there were no 'boy colours and 'girl colours,' they were just 'colours.' If the boys found dolls or anything of the like there was nothing wrong with playing with them.That's why Raph was a fairy princess for Halloween. When MC laughed, they didn't really get why it was so funny.
- When the turtle's were learning to speak, Leo's first word was 'Dada,' Raph's was 'No,' Mikey's was 'Raph,' and Donnie's—who was the last to start speaking—was 'Father,' followed immediately by 'Raphael is stealing all the toys again.'
- The turtles can all hold their breath for around 40 minutes, but Mikey holds the record at 48 minutes.
- Each of the turtles stopped learning academics at different ages. Donnie was finished when he was 8, Leo at 11, Raph at 12 and Mikey finished last at age 14, mostly because he couldn't sit still throughout the lessons, not because he's not intelligent.
- When the turtles were little, Master Splinter had them each pick a birthday so that they had a special day to themselves instead of sharing. When they grew up, they all stablished 'Mutation Day'.
- When the turtles were little, Master Splinter found an old box of Disney movies and the boys spent hours watching all of them. Leo's favourite was Mulan, Mikey's was Alice in Wonderland, Donnie's was Beauty and the Beast/Atlantis, and Raph's favourite was Hercules.
- Sometimes Splinter regrets teaching his sons martial arts, now that they're actually out and getting hurt.
- The turtles have claws, like normal turtles. They file them down because they get in the way.
- While Splinter was preparing the bedrooms, the turtles shared a bed in the largest room. When they were five, they were separated to pairs: Leo and Raph in one room, Donnie and Mikey in the other. Eventually, Splinter figured out that wasn't working, so they switched to Donnie and Leo and Raph and Mikey. Then finally, they all got their own rooms when they were seven. If something tragic ever happens, they'll revert to their childhood days and make a nest out of pillows and blankets in the middle of the living room, to sleep together.
- Donnie's favorite comic book hero is Iron Man. Raph's is Wolverine. Leo's is Captain America and Mikey's is the Hulk.
- While not fully cold-blooded, they do have a lower body temperature than humans. This means they become sluggish in the cold, sleep more during the winter, and they don't sweat, or not really much.
- The turtles all watched Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra. Leo's fave characters are Katara and Mako, while Raph's is Toph and Korra. Donnie's are Asami and Aang (they use a similar weapon) and, of course, Mikey adores Sokka and Bolin.
- All the boys are fluent in Japanese, which MC learned when they spoke to Murakami once they felt safe. They mostly speak to each other this way when they are alone, don't want MC or Casey to know something, or when they're in trouble (with Splinter).
- One day, Leo pulled Raph and Don aside, and with a little arguing, they settled on a game plan: If they're in a bad situation, and they're probably not all going to make it, they'll order Mikey to get MC and Casey to safety. That gets all three of them out first. Then, if possible, Don, Raph, and Leo last. Unbeknownst to Leo, both Donnie and Raph have mentally put themselves at the end of the list.
- Murakami-san closes the restaurant early on certain nights, just for the turtles and their friends. He is very grateful to them and wants to make sure they know how much he appreciates them saving his life.
- When the guys first got 'the talk,' it was around the time MC started living with them. It was weird for everyone, especially Donnie.
- After a hard mission, the four brothers and MC will gather on the couch and watch cartoons until they all fall asleep in a huge clump.
- All the turtles learned to read lips as part of their ninja training. This has proven to be especially helpful when MC goes non-verbal.
