Remember: Headcanons are both current and future in the story. This headcanons are based in my opinions and perception of the characters, and some of them have been found in social media.
Raph's headcanons
- He found Spike after some kid flushed him down the toilet, and begged Splinter to let him keep him.
- He's Demisexual and Demiromantic. In simple words? He only has eyes for Monalisa, since he felt a deep connection with her.
- He and MC are very good friends. He loves the constant sass and banter. They bounce off one another so well that their closeness often makes Donnie insecure.
- He used to have a swearing problem when he was younger. Splinter put a stop to it once Mikey started picking it up.
- A lot of Raph's life choices begin with 'Screw it.'
- He loves to make puns, but absolutely hates hearing them.
- Raph's the go-to brother when you can't beat a video game level
- He gave Michelangelo his teddy bear when they were younger to help with his nightmares. He would always say Mikey stole it.
- His fear of bugs originated when he was a kid. He was in bed and this monstrously huge cockroach was crawling on him in the dark. He felt it crawling up his arm so he turned on the light and saw it and just about went into cardiac arrest.
- He likes super freaky, gory horror movies but if there's a dog in the movie he won't watch it because if anything happened to the dog he would scream
- He sucks to watch horror movies with though, because he spends the whole time talking about how he would actually be able to survive. Like, no offense to those teens who just got murdered, but Raph is simply built different. They're watching a scary scene with the serial killer and Raph is just like 'Yeah, I could take him'
- The only turtle that Raph allows to hug or cuddle him openly and without complaint is Donnie, though it doesn't happen much. When they were kids, Donnie tried to give Raph a hug, and he pushed him away, accidentally causing Dee to fall and hurt his arm. After Donnie avoided him for a week, and refused to touch him for another after that, Raph has never refused affection from him.
- He knows how to knit and sew. In the winter time, Raph would knit little turtle sweaters for Spike to keep him warm. For his brothers, he knitted scarfs and gloves
- The straps on his mask are torn because Raph used to let Spike chew on them sometimes.
- He's a total Lord of the Rings nerd. His favourite character is Samwise.
- Raph secretly wanted to meet Tang Shen, just to see how would it feel to have a mother.
- Raphael didn't break down over losing Spike until he saw his pet's empty bed later that night. He still refuses to let anyone remove it.
- He harbored a lil crush on MC when they started getting to know each other better. He pushed it aside and told himself to get over it since for him, humans and mutants won't ever make a good pair, and it only intensified when he found out Donnie was serious about MC. It eventually faded, and now he sees them as more of a sibling, like Leo and Mikey do. Spike is the only one he ever told. (This is a reference to the original idea of the series, where it was planned that Rafael would be the one who would have a crush on April instead of Donnie)
- He may not admit it... but Raph loves hugs.
- Raph likes to nuzzle the person he's hugging.
- Raph and MC like to wrestle sometimes. They both enjoy rough play, tho they are careful to not hurt each other.
- Raph often has terrible nightmares about Leo dying, and when he does he'll run to Leo's room to assure himself that everything is fine, and then he'll fall back asleep with Leo. At first Leo was annoyed that he kept waking up with an extra person in his bed, but now he doesn't mind and he'll stay in bed until Raph wakes up.
- The main reason Raph ends up falling in love with Mona Lisa, is because of the way she treats his emotions. She doesn't see his anger as a 'weakness' or that he's 'over-emotional.' She also doesn't make him feel bad for being sad; so he'll easily cry in front of her. Though she isn't afraid of telling him when he's being unreasonable, neither is he. They both support each other, and enjoy each other's company, whether in a silly, emotional, or romantic way. It's a really healthy relationship.
- Whenever Raph has nightmares, he'll grab a magazine and go hang out with Donnie in the lab, since his brother is usually awake pretty late. And even though Donnie knows why Raph visits him in the middle of the night, he never asks his brother to share. Raph never does either. They just sit there quietly in each others company.
- Instead of Raphael falling in love with Mona Lisa, Mona developed a crush on him first.
- Raph really wants to prove to Splinter that he can be just as good as Leo. He just wants Splinter's approval.
- He makes Mikey get rid of all the bugs in the house. If there is bug in the room he will refuse to be in that room until it is eliminated. Mikey insists on saving the bugs so Raph makes him deal with them, otherwise Raph smash.
