I sat through another class, doing my best to focus on the teacher. I took detailed notes, determined to make the most of this first day. After all, UA's general education department wasn't much different from any other public high school.
Okay, maybe that's not entirely true.
Because the moment I stepped into the Engineering lab, I almost turned right back around. It didn't even look like a classroom. More like a university-level workshop—rows of workstations, state-of-the-art machinery everywhere. It was overwhelming.
But also...
Maybe if I couldn't be a hero anymore, at least I could still create something. Standing there, looking at my very own workbench, the urge to pull out my sketchbook hit me harder than it had in years. There were ideas—things I'd given up on for so long—waiting to come alive on that workbench.

I sat in the dorm lobby waiting for Kacchan, trying to keep my impatience steady. Fiddling around with a straw and an empty juice box. The place was quiet, save for the hum of the nearby vending machine. And the soft buzz of conversation from other students in the background.
Just as I was starting to zone out, a tap on my shoulder pulled me back into reality. I flinched slightly—turning to see a black haired guy... zig zag ends, what was his name again? Hanta, the cool guy from lunch! "Hello," I mumbled awkwardly, still getting used to talking to people again. Hanta grinned and held out his fist. I blinked before realizing what he wanted. Quickly I bumped my fist against his, smiling sheepishly. "You in the hero department?" He asked, his voice casual.
"Ah-" I was about to answer but Hanta's eyes drifted over my shoulder, his expression faltering. I turned to see Kacchan walking towards us, his usual intensity dulled by what looked like a neutral expression. For Kacchan, that was about as calm as it got.
Hanta shifted uncomfortably his confidence shrinking away as he slouched. "I'll talk to you later dude." He muttered, his eyebrows creased before turning back to me and flashing a small forced smile.
He shuffled away and I sat there confused. Are people always this avoidant towards Kacchan?
