After a while of walking I found myself in front of the buildings doors, I took a hold of the handle and opened the door. The cold air whooshing out from inside, I stepped into the main living quarters. It was a nice looking lobby with dark gray office carpet and many comfortable choices for lounging around. My entrance had turned a couple of heads, two girls sat on one of the couches chatting and giggling quietly. I awkwardly acknowledged them with a slight nod and turned my head to scan the rest of the room.
My eyes quickly landed on the blonde who sat on one of the tables with his back faced towards me, upon a deeper inspection he had headphones on, elbows propped on the table. I quietly approached him and pulled out the chair next to him which cause him to lean back a bit and turn his head.
"Kacchan." I said smiling slightly, a plopped down onto the chair. I watched as he furrowed his eyebrows and snatched off his headphones. "What the-" He said leaning back slightly, his face a mix of confusion and shock. "Surprise?" I said holding back a laugh.
"Izuku?!" He said he placed a hand on my shoulder shoving it playfully, "Oh my god, not even a text?" He said, the volume of his voice caused the girls on the couch to turn their heads slightly. Kacchan lowered his voice a bit, "Hero course?" He asked cautiously.
"General," I said with a smile, Kacchan nodded with a slight look of pity, "which is good." I added.
"No, yeah definitely." He nodded. "Good." He let out a sigh.
"I wanted to tell you in person first thing but I didn't want to be late for class." I said gazing at his eyes as he tentatively nodded. "And then you weren't at lunch..." I sighed and shrugged. "Not hungry?" I asked.
Kacchan scrunched his face in a slight grimace, "No, it's just that I end up with a bunch of losers at a table and-" He paused. "You know my temper." He said sheepishly. I rolled my eyes a bit and laughed, "Right." I said mockingly, he gave me a slight smile and his gaze lingered on for a bit. We sat there silently for a brief moment before he stood up slightly and moved his chair, it made a scraping noise as he faced it towards me. I raised my eyebrow and copied him until we both sat facing each other, knees brushing past each other due to our close distance.
"So, tell me about your first day so far." He said, his voice low and curious. He propped his elbow on the table. I raised my eyebrow out of curiosity at his sudden interest, I let out a sigh, "Uhm well, really good actually..." I said slightly rubbing my palm on the fabric of my uniform pants. "I got situated in my dorm room already but y'know... it could use some decorating." I said, I looked up at him, his gaze never wavering. He gave me a small nod, "Are the dorms different for general ed?" He asked.
I shrugged, "Dunno, my dorm is here." I said with a smile. He smiled incredulously, "Here? Same building?" He asked, skeptical. I nodded, "Yeah, lucky right?" I said, "Same building." I repeated, Kacchan sat there with a brighter expression. I smiled back knowing the only reason this was my dorm situation was because of Tsukauchi and the fact that he managed to convince whatever staff for this slight arrangement. And although his coverup was that the general dorms were all full I'll know, and I'll be forever grateful.
Kacchan leaned in and wanted to speak up but was disrupted by the school bell ringing thoroughout the lobby. He glanced around and sighed, "Lunch's over." He grumbled. "We can talk after school?" I said reassuringly, he sat there contemplating before he nodded in agreement and maybe in slight defeat.
"Okay, after school."
"Okay!"
