Chapter Nine : Abundantly Malicious

"Um, Lilac can I talk to you?" Melanie asked Lotus as she was getting Christopher a Powerade out the fridge. Lotus rolled her eyes and turned around.

"It's Lotus."

"Yeah ,whatever." Mel started. "Stay away from Chris, or you lose your job. "

"Why? Did I do something wrong?"

" No. But as I was saying ,stay away from him. I see the way he looks at you and I don't like it one Bit. He doesn't need his heart broken."

He looks at me a certain way? In that way? Lotus thought. No he couldn't . All they saw each other as were best friends . Nothing more, nothing less.

"I wouldn't break his heart. I wouldn't do that to him." .

Because despite his disability, she loved him too. More than friends. More than to the point she felt like he was her brother. She was in love with Christopher.

"Do you not know of his disability? You're just going take his money from the check he gets every month and break his heart. Lead him on and etcetera."

"So what? You don't know what he's thinking and you sure don't know what him or I are feeling!" Lotus began yell. Something she didn't do often. Like mentioned before, Lotus doesn't argue fight. She doesn't like it.

"Trick don't get loud with me. Like I said ,you keep your distance or become unemployed. He can't love you anyway. He doesn't even know what that is he's stupid. And you're stupid if you think he loves you." Mel threatens with her signature smirk.

"I don't care how much you want me to stay away from him, I love him and I am here to stay no matter of you like it or not. Have  a good day."

         Lotus switched out of the house. Mel had pissed her off so bad she had to leave. It was time for her to go anyway though. She got into her car and made her way home.

"How could she tell me to stay away!?" Lotus thought.

"I love him just like she does. I just know he has to feel the same. Right?" She frowned at her thoughts.

Don't worry Lotus. He does.

"Where's Lotus?" Chris questioned Lytrell and his Mother. Lotus never left without saying a goodbye to him and giving him a hug. Today she just left--no notation of her leaving she just left. That wasnt kosher.
She couldn't have left.

"Oh she left." Mel interrupted. Christopher immediately sent her a ferocious glare. He just knew Mel had something to do with Lotus leaving. But he wouldn't say anything. Until later.

"You could help ya know." Mel said as she loaded the dish washer. Her mother had asked and she agreed to it. Chris was just standing there watching.

"Shut the hell up. I know you made her leave. What did you do to her?" He spat venomously.

"I didn't do anything. I told her how you felt about her. A
She started talking down on you so horrifically that I told her to stop. She didn't and we started arguing and she got mad and left." Mel lied. Chris couldn't tell. He felt a wave of sorrow come over him. He just wanted to know why?

"Really? What did she say?" He asked as pain struck his heart

"She said that you were a retard and she could never love you. She also said that you weren't her type and needs serious help if you thought she loved you back. I stood up for you though."

"I don't believe she said that. Mel are you lying? Those words could have never came out of Lotus' mouth. That's unbelievable."

"I told you she wouldnt feel like you did."

        Stunned and confused were the words to describe Chris right now. Stunned because Lotus would say that? Confused as to why? His feelings were hurt, his heart was broken. Lotus held his heart and she had no idea. Just like Chris held her heart with knowing. They both had a broken heart. And they broke them without any knowing.

"It's okay." Mel comforted as she pulled him into her arms. He wasn't full on waterworks ,but tears were falling. He was hurt that bad. It felt like he had been stabbed in the heart about a million times. He pushed Mel away and wiped his tears.

"Don't touch me. I don't like you." He spat at her. With his jaw clenched and eyes red, Chris went back to his room.

Back downstairs, Mel stood with a smile on her face. The first part of the plan was to make Chris and Lotus feel some type of way towards each other. The second part of it took effect tomorrow. Third, was for Chris to finally fall in love with Mel.

"Part one of three complete." She said lowly.

But have you thought that all the way through? I don't think so..
