The Present
The double doors swung open revealing the Garcia twins entering, along with two bodyguards.
"Well...I must say that you two make an exquisite and beautiful couple!", Marcus stated as he applauded, the oldest between the two twins.
"The movements were fluid and the transition between the songs were perfect, especially when you guys swapped the male dancers.", Mia added, the twin sister.
"Thank you.", Sofia stated as she noticed Mia checking out Romano before looking back at Sofia, smirking.
"Ahem...We need your help.", Sofia stated as she glanced at Romano who seemed oblivious to Mia's reaction towards him.
"What is it?", Marcus asked.
"Recently, it was my family's turn to throw the mafia ball but things went south.", Romano answered. "We have reasons to believe that someone is trying to turn the Greek mafia against the Italian mafia and the Japanese clan."
Mia chuckled dryly as she sat on the couch and gestured for Sofia and Romano to sit and they compiled.
"That's quite a big statement you're making.", Mia said.
"Their moves...their skills and the way they talk...it sounds perfect...like they were born to each particular mafia and clan.", Sofia stated as she adjusted her dress and elegantly crossed her leg of the other, unaware of the glances that was being stolen by Romano, which didn't go unnoticed by Mia.
"We know...they must have sent in two or three triple agents to spy on each party and to adapt to their moves.", Marcus added and sat next to Mia after pouring drinks for everyone and checking out Sofia.
Romano's jaw ticked as he watched Marcus's reaction
"It's too much of a job...too many people would risk the rate of being exposed.",Sofia said.
"More people interrogated equals more threat levels. It causes too much distrust among the members. Less is more.", Romano stated as he leaned in and placed a hand on Sofia's knee, causing her to frown slightly and Mia to chuckle while Marcus stopped looking at Sofia.
"You're right...", Marcus added.
"They only sent one person.", Mia stated before she could stand up and walk across the room. "One person infiltrates ...Every. Single. Base.", Sofia stated as she pointed to each one of them and landed last on Sofia.
"If you guys figured half of it by now, why are you here?", Marcus asked after he downed his drink.
Sofia took a deep breath in and looked at Romano.
"You know why.", Sofia said as she locked eyes with Marcus's.
"Do tell.", Marcus added.
"The night of the Mafia ball... I found the same tattoo that is within your cartels.", Sofia stated.
"Are you sure?", Marcus asked.
"Yes. I got proof.", Sofia took out a neat sealed box wrapped in plastic that was in her handbag and placed it on the table and slid it over to Marcus.
Marcus glanced at her before unwrapping the plastic that clung to the box and slowly opened the box. He froze for a split second before chuckling.
"You're joking, right?", Marcus asked as he looked at Romano and back to Sofia.
"Alejandro Hernandez.", Sofia said. "Age, forty two. Kids, one is three and the other is going to turn one in a few hours time. He has a wife that is expecting him to come home soon, believing that her husband is here, just working as a bouncer.", Sofia shrugged nonchalantly. "His one year old son is sick. There's not much security in his house, I could easily kill his family."
