I slowly opened my eyes, wincing at the harsh sunlight streaming through my window. I rubbed them, trying to shake off the remnants of a deep sleep. My body felt heavy, like I'd been stuck in dreamland for hours.

I reached for my phone to check the time, and my eyes widened - 10 a.m.! Whoa, I'd slept in. Normally, I'd bestressing about being late for college, but today wa a blessed off-day. No alarms, no rush, no hassle.

As I sat up in bed, stretching my arms and letting out a satisfying yawn, I felt a wave of relaxation wash over me. Ah, peace. No college meant no Ankur, no Suhana... and that's when it hit me - today was their date.

My mind started racing. What if they had an amazing time? What if they discovered some deep connection? What if... Ugh, my brain was already spiraling out of control. I tried to shake off the anxiety, but it lingered, nagging me like a persistent itch.

I was lost in thought when my phone buzzed, snapping me back to reality. Ankur's text message flashed on the screen: "Hey chuzi, sorry if I made you feel left out yesterday. You're still my partner in crime, always."

A bittersweet smile spread across my face. I was genuinely happy for Ankur, but it stung to see him moving forward, especially with Suhana.

I typed out a response, forcing a cheerful tone: "I'm always down for an adventure! Just don't forget about me when you're off having fun with Suhana."

Ankur replied with a laughing emoji and a reassuring promise: "Never!"

I smiled at Ankur's text, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "Don't overthink it, Aashna," I told myself. "It's just a casual hangout, not a date."

Shaking off my thoughts, I got off the bed and headed to freshen up. A warm shower and some upbeat music would do wonders for my mood.

As I emerged from the washroom, my phone caught my attention. Tons of text messages from Ankur flooded my screen.

Excitement mixed with curiosity as I hurriedly opened them.

But instead of romantic confessions or date details, I burst out laughing.

"Where are you chuzi??"
"Alive?"
"Dead?"
"Hey!!???"
"U there???"
"Help me yrr 😭😭😭"

Followed by:

"Chuzi, help! Choose a decent outfit for me. Can't decide between these."

Ankur had sent me a series of photos - a pile of clothes lying on his bed.

Typical Ankur! Impatient and dramatic.

I rolled my eyes, chuckling.

"Ankur, chill! I was just taking a shower," I replied.
