The breeze was light and the air was crisp. Between two posts were ropes that hung Grace Marks' quilts and Simon himself stood next to them with more to be draped over. On one of them there was a dagger, the one Grace had always spoke of making. Simon favored that one since it was the very first that she had made for him.
"We could go out to the field tonight," he suggests over the pile in his arms. Grace looks over her shoulder.
"Or we could stay inside and sew," she smiles slyly.
His head falls back, "wow, okay, so we are going to be inside all summer now is that it?"
She laughs at his dramatic show, "I don't know... I just like to be indoors with you..." she hides behind one of the quilts.
Simon drops the pile in his arms and walks up to her hideaway, "you what?"
A small laugh sounds from her direction, "I was only joking obviously..."
He smiles a wicked smile, "no you weren't, Grace, would you like me to take you inside now?"
He hears her giggle but cannot see her for she keeps hiding behind each nicely hung quilt.
In an instant, he bursts through the barrier and Grace begins running away, laughter bubbling through the air. Eventually, Simon falls and trips over something on the grass.
"Grace..." he says, breathless, "Grace, c'mere..."
In her overly concerned way she runs straight over, just like he had hoped.
"Are you hurt, what is the matter?"
But as soon as she arrives a grin spreads over his face and he pulls her down to the ground on top of him and kisses her.
"Do not do that, you fool..." she mumbles between the kiss, "you worried me."
He shakes his head, arm wrapped gingerly about her waist, "I'm sorry, dear, I will try not to as long as you promise not to run from me."
She laughs, "well, I can't promise that, I fear—"
He kisses her again, sitting up and holding her by her head and waist as she sits atop his lap.
"Indoors..." she breaks away from the kiss.
He chuckles, "fine—" and he stands from the ground with her in his arms as he carries her inside and onto the couch.
And on the couch, draped on its back is a quilt much smaller than the rest with two large diamonds on it and one very small diamond in the center linking the two together. Her most recent piece.

A/N
Sorry this last bit is so short but I think the story is pretty much finished now and my mind is convinced now that this is canon and Grace actually got to live a happy life and so I can finally rest easy. Anyway, I know this has less than 200 reads but like I see that one person who's reading my stuff and it motivated me to continue so thank u very much girl. Byeee xx
