Awakened by the call of nature Eric Vang set of on an adventure to fill his long-awaited desire to travel the world, on his travels Eric will face the hardships of battle but also the love of making lifelong companion's.
Eric's eyes lit up at the mention of a frost dragon. The Frostpeaks were known for their harsh climate and treacherous terrain, but the thought of facing such a powerful creature sent a thrill through him. "We'll need supplies," he said, his mind already racing with the preparations they'd need to make. "And information on the dragon's lair."
The group split up, each with a task in mind. Eric went to the local general store, his enchanted bag seemingly bottomless as he filled it with dried meats, fruits, nuts etc. He added several thick blankets and waterproof tents to withstand the mountain's cold embrace. The shopkeeper, a middle-aged dwarf with a beard, gave Eric a knowing nod. "Frostpeaks, eh?" he said, his voice gruff yet friendly. "You'll need these," he handed Eric a bundle of torches and a flask of something that smelled like liquid fire. "It'll keep you warm when the nights get cold enough to freeze your breath."
While Eric tended to their supplies, Axel sought out the local blacksmith, seeking the best steel for his axe and any information on the frost dragon. The blacksmith, a burly human with a face as weathered as the mountains they were about to face, listened intently. "Frost dragons are crafty," he warned, hammering a glowing piece of metal into shape. "They're not just beasts to be slain. They're clever, and they have a taste for treasure. Watch your back, especially around their hoards."
Eric decided to make one final stop at a magic shop, hoping to find something that could give them an edge. The shop was small and cramped, filled with the scent of incense and the faint hum of arcane energy. The shopkeeper, an elderly gnome with spectacles perched on the tip of his nose, peered at Eric over a tome. "What can I do for you?" he asked, his voice high-pitched and curious.
"I'm looking for a battle horse core and a fire core." Eric said, his voice steady amidst the cacophony of the busy shop.
The gnome nodded solemnly. "Ah, yes I have them, give me one minute to get them." He disappeared into the back room, leaving Eric to marinate in anticipation. The shop was cluttered with all sorts of mystical artifacts. The walls were lined with shelves that groaned under the weight of books and bottles filled with substances. The air was thick with the scent of incense and something else.
When the gnome returned, he placed two small orbs into Eric's palm. One was the deep blue of a midnight sky, the other a fiery red. "here you go, that will be 50 gold coins"
Eric examined the cores, feeling the pulse of raw magic beneath his fingertips. He knew that with these, Sliver will have the ability to turn into a battle horse, which would enhance her strength and speed, making it a formidable ally in the Frostpeaks. "Thank you," he said, handing over the gold. "These will be put to good use."
The gnome nodded "I've no doubt of that," he said, pocketing the coins. "Be wary, young one. The Frostpeaks are not for the faint of heart."
With the cores in hand, Eric leaves the shop. He found Silver and the direwolves waiting patiently outside. They looked up at him as he knelt beside Silver, holding out the battle horse core and the fire core. "This is for you," he said, "It'll make you even stronger."
Silver's eyes grew wide with excitement as she took the cores in her mouth, swallowing them whole. Her body convulsed briefly, and then she grew still. For a moment, Eric's heart stopped, until she shifted into a majestic battle horse, her eyes burning with a fiery light. The transformation was breathtaking, and Eric couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement at the sight of his new steed.
