Lucan Isle
The morning light shone brightly on Mike's eyes through one of the guest rooms' windows. Mike groaned as he sat up on the bed. A quick look at his surroundings reminded him of the events of yesterday. With little energy, he lazily lifted himself off the bed and headed to the bathroom.
The first thing he noticed while entering the bathroom was a large mirror above the sink. Looking at it, he saw his bright green eyes stare back at him. Something that Mike didn't expect, was to be surprised by his current looks. Besides his messy bedhead hair, something else was wrong. The end tips of his hair were white, it almost looked like his hair was becoming white slowly over time. Mike may have a hazy memory, but he knew something about this was off.
That's odd. Well, no one else said anything about it...except. Mike remembered a comment Luther made about Mike's hair being weird. Ugh, never mind. I can just ignore it for now.
Before heading to bed, Kira shared some information about the shower for Mike. She explained to Mike something about her so-called "addition". She's able to create crystals which contain certain elements within them. She created one of these using the element of water, attaching it to a hose, which then, in turn, shoots low-pressurized water out of it.
Something like this has never been heard of but made showering very convenient for Mike. These crystals last as long as she wants them to. However, she said that using one's addition takes up some of their energy. So after every shower, it disappears, leaving her to restock them after every shower.
Opening the curtains and leaving the shower, Mike picked up his clothes and prepared to get dressed. Putting them on felt dirty, however, since these were the same clothes as yesterday.
...Gross. I really need to get new clothes. And that means getting a job. Mike beard through it and hoped he didn't smell horrible. Leaving the bathrooms and reentering the guest room, he saw the cloak he threw on the floor. Of course that wasn't an option, wearing the symbol of these people's enemies would prove to be a terrible idea. With that, Mike entered the living room with nothing but a simple t-shirt and basic pants. With the weather being incredibly cold, he knew he'd regret this. But with no other choice, he'd have to put up with it.
Entering the living room, Mike could spot Kira working on cooking in the kitchen. The air smelt of eggs, bacon, and pancakes. A typical morning breakfast, but one that is appreciated nonetheless. Not wanting to bother Kira, he silently sat down on the living room couch.
After sitting there for what felt like half an hour, Kira called out from the kitchen. "Micheal!" she simply yelled his name.
Mike got up and headed in her direction. There was a rounded dinner table with two plates on each side.
"Breakfast," she said, pointing to the table.
Without a word, Mike sat down along with Kira and both enjoyed their meal silently as the sun rose.
After Mike had almost finished his food, Kira looked up at him and spoke. "Do you know exactly where we are?" she said.
The question caught him off guard, after a pause, he answered. "No..." his voice was a little raspy from just waking up.
Kira looked down again before answering. "We're in Lucan. Otherwise known as Lucan Isle. Or as the people on the mainland call it, "Death Island." she said, her voice monotone.
"Death Island?" Mike questioned.
"It gets its name from its history. You see, everyone here, or at least the older folk, used to live on the mainland. However, for one reason or another, we were banished, and exiled here in hopes that being stranded would kill us. They banished us for our differences, or even just for the hell of it. Of course, they never knew of the civilization here. After being banished, we survived and now thrive here as a country. One that no one but us know about." she explained.
