17- Christmas Party.

Once Nissa was gone. I went to my room to change into a nice dress. I grabbed the cake, and some Ice Cream, and made my way to the Staff room.

When I entered, many greetings came my way. I didn't Realize that so many of my old teachers liked me so much. Albus grabbed the cake from my hands with a wide smile. "Thank You so Much Mae! It looks and Smells Delicious!... Mmm and it's still warm" he said, stealing it away.

Then Severus came up to me quickly. And wrapped his arms around my waist quickly whispering in my ear before I could protest his hands. Though frankly I don't particularly want to... they felt nice. "They Don't Know It was arranged. As far as they are all concerned, we are in love. So, play along or they will get suspicious. Smile, Giggle, Touch, whatever you need to do to make it convincing. Do it." he Whispered. And as he spoke explaining it, I immediately started acting along. I made myself smile and placed my arms on his. I laughed as if what he was whispering was Cutesy and Funny. Then he spoke at normal volume for all to hear. "I'm Glad you came Love. I don't know if I could Stand another one of these staff parties alone." he smirked.

"Mhm I didn't do it for you dearest. The headmaster requested a treat. So, I made one......" I flirted.

"I only asked for the cake to get you to come." Albus interrupted, clearly lying. He just wanted the cake.

"You know you can ask for a treat any time, and I'll be happy to make you something." I rolled my eyes. And leaned into the man holding me.

"How long have you been together?" Poppy asked. Cutting herself a slice of cake and then grabbing a scoop of ice cream to go with.

I looked up at Severus. I prayed he had some Lie prepared. Thank Merlin he did. "We grew closer last year during her studying for her N.E.W.T.S. Then we continued to meet up during the summer..." He paused for a moment, and I took that as a sign he wanted me to add on to the lie.

"And one day he asked me on a date." I smiled wide looking up at him. "Eventually after weekly dates..."

"Near the end of the summer I knew... I knew I loved her, and I asked her to marry me." he said leaning down and planting a kiss on my head.

I lifted my left hand to show the ring. "And I said yes." I smiled. When I looked up at him, he looked down at me and he kissed me on the lips. Careful or I might think you actually like me. I joked in my head.

And what if I do? He responded in his own mind as he deepened the kiss.

"Merlin, get a room." Filch grumbled as he walked in and saw us kissing.

"We'll continue that later." Severus smirked. Making everyone think he was talking about the kiss. But I knew he was talking about our Mind conversation. I gave him a swift nod.

"Wait So you fell in love with someone in such a short time? Severus, I thought you Still loved Lily." Minerva said, confused. I don't think she bought the story we were telling. I felt Severus tense up at the mention of that Lily chick. I looked up and saw hurt in his eyes.

I don't know what compelled me to do what I did next, But I turned to face Severus. I looked at him and suddenly my hand was softly on his face. And I smiled calmy. "It wasn't such a short time. I've... I've always found him interesting." It was the truth. I never Hated him as much as the other students. I certainly never thought we would be here at this moment. He leaned into my hand.

And for a second, I thought we shared a moment. I felt something spark. It felt like we connected.

"Don't bother him with that Minni. It's clearly still a red-light topic." Poppy said while wrapping her arms around Minerva. That caught my eye.
