"Thanks for coming with me," she says as we get into her car.
"Yeah, no problem."
"Are you sure?" She turns her head to look at me from her seat. "You don't have to. Go enjoy your night." Her voice is filled with guilt.
Honestly, I would rather be here with her than anywhere else. "I know, but I want to."
I don't know why, but every time she blushes at something I've said, it makes me smile.
"Okay, put your damn seatbelt on. I don't want to kill you just yet." She jokes as she starts the engine.
The car ride was comfortably silent. I was staring out the window pretty much the whole time.
Ugh. I'm extremely conflicted right now. Why do I care so much for this girl? Is it maybe because she's one of my closer friends now.
She's one of my brothers' best friends. And she means a lot to him. And he means a lot to me. Maybe that's it.
I mean, it's not like she's not likable. She has a great personality, and man is she gorgeous. But that means nothing. I can think she's pretty without liking her, right?
I lose my train of thought as I feel my hand being bumped on the console. I look down to see her try to move her hand away. Before I think of something rational, I quickly grab her hand in mine.
She discreetly looks down to our hands and back up to my face. I can see her face etched with shock and happiness.
"Uh, do you want to come over tonight?"
"Sure, let me grab some stuff from my house first." She said as we pulled into the driveway.
I haven't even noticed we were already here. "Wait, here I'll be quick." She jumped out of the car and ran into the house.
In the meantime, I checked my phone. I had like 20 texts from Lee.
