Third pov
It was officially Christmas morning. Ice had frosted over all the windows around the house. The sun gradually made its way up. Causing streaks of pink, orange, and lilac to paint the sky.
Everyone in the house was still sound asleep. As much as they all enjoyed Christmas, none of them would dare to sacrifice sleep for it.
As they woke up one by one, the chaos started to unfold. The girls were wide, a wake getting ready, as the boys were still sleeping in the other room.
An hour or so later, they all headed downstairs for breakfast. Maddy and katys' job were to make cinnamon rolls while the others sat on the couch and watched Christmas cartoons.
As the girls were kneading the dough for the pastries, they had heard a loud screech from the living room. The two girls gave each other a quick glance before running towards the noise.
"Ehhh, Santa was here." Lee chanted excitingly as he jumped around in circles.
"What's up, Lee?" Katy had asked as her and maddy observed the boys' shenanigans from the doorway.
"The cookies and milk are gone." He pointed out as he hopped over to them with the plate and glass in hand.
"That's great, buddy," Maddy laughed at the boys eagerness as she took the dishes away from him.
He then ran over to the couch and jumped on to Issac, Josh, and leecey. Several groans and complaints filled the room. After Lee got off of them, they went back to watching what was ever on the TV. Which just so happened to be frosty the snowman.
Katy and maddy simply left to get back to the baking. Once they finished assembling the cinnamon rolls, they put them in the oven. After they cleaned up, they decided to sit at the table and talk.
"So how's you and my brother," Maddy asks, eyeing down the girl. "Are you guys friends yet." She asked hopefully.
The girl shook her head. "I love you, Mads, but I rather Lee talk about all of his skateboards for days than even have a single conversation with your brother."
"Oh, come on, Josh isn't that bad."
"Yes, he is. He's THAT bad." She exaggerates. "You know he somehow learned how to change my locker code. I have gotten 6 tardies within a week cause I couldn't open my stupid locker."
Of course he did that, maddy thought. She tried to excuse her brothers behavior. "How do you know it was him? It could've been anyone."
Katys face scrunched up. "Oh no, it's definitely him. Every time I finally get that locker open, a note that says J.E. is left in there."
Yep, that was definitely her brother. That was his signature move. To leave a piece of paper with his initials where the crime scene is.
"I'm sorry, katy. Do you want me to talk to him or something?" She offers.
"No, it's fine. It's not that big of a deal." They were soon interrupted with the sound of a timer going off.
After they had pulled the cinnamon rolls out of the oven, they called over the little gremlins. The four of them rushed in.
"Those smell really good, Mads." Josh told his sister as he took a seat at the island.
"Uhh, I helped, too." Katy stated frustratingly.
"And we thank you," Lee said, taking a seat next to his best friend.
They each grabbed a cinnamon roll and started devouring them. Once they were done and the mess was cleaned up, they decided it would be a good time to open presents.
