Minji POV:
The campus felt almost unnervingly quiet today. The perfect atmosphere for what I had planned. My heart thrummed in anticipation as I carefully folded the note one last time, its message buried deep within the creases of the paper. I made sure no one was around as I slipped it into Hanni's locker. My hand trembled, but not out of nervousness—out of excitement.
She would find it. And when she did, she would understand me even more. We were already connected in ways she couldn't imagine. This was just another step.
As I walked away, my footsteps silent on the polished floor, a soft scuff behind me made my heart jolt. I felt her eyes Hanni's eyes, on my back, but I didn't dare to turn around. Instead, I disappeared around the corner, letting the thrill wash over me.
Had she seen me? No, not fully. I was safe for now.
From the shadows, I watched her approach her locker. She hesitated for a moment, her fingers brushing against the metal before pulling it open. Slowly, she unfolded the note, her eyes flicking back and forth across the message.

Hanni POV:
I saw something familiar turn the corner as I approached my locker, finding a note inside.
The note was strange, creepy even. But it felt oddly familiar, as though whoever wrote it understood me on a level that others didn't. I unfolded it with careful hands, and as I read the words, a slow smile crept across my lips.
"I see you, Hanni. All the time. Do you feel it too? That tickle in your spine when someone watches you from afar? I know where you sit, the songs you hum when you're walking alone. I hear you.
We're not so different, you and I. Closer than you think. And soon, even closer."
A chill ran through me, but it wasn't from fear. No, this was something else, something I had longed for. I bit my lip as I tucked the note into my pocket, feeling the paper's weight settle against my skin.
But who sent it?
My mind raced as I clutched the note. Someone was watching me, just like I had been watching someone else. The handwriting was too familiar, as if it was something I'd been seeing everyday. But was it... her? Could it be Minji?
The thrill of it sent a shiver down my spine. I replayed the brief glimpse I caught from the corner of my eye, the shadow disappearing around the corner. It had to be her. It had to.
But I couldn't let her know. Not yet.

Hyein POV:
From my spot by the vending machine, I watched the whole thing go down. Minji creeping up to Hanni's locker like some kind of stealthy ninja, slipping in a note and then bolting. She probably thought no one saw her, but I did. She wasn't as sneaky as she thought.
I could barely keep the laughter in as I watched Hanni open the note and smile. The whole thing was so weird. I mean, who even does that in real life? Passing secret notes in lockers? I almost laughed out loud but held it together long enough to watch Hanni stuff the note in her pocket like it was a love letter.
They were both so strange. But honestly? It was hilarious.
I decided to keep it to myself for now. I'd share it with Dani and Haerin later—they'd get a kick out of it. Maybe over lunch or something.
With a final glance at Hanni, who was now walking away, I turned and headed in the opposite direction, already laughing under my breath at the whole situation.

Minji POV:
I couldn't stop watching her. Even from across the courtyard, hidden behind a column, I could see every movement she made. Her fingers brushing against her pocket, her smile as she slipped the note away. It thrilled me to know she liked it—no, loved it. That connection I craved, it was getting stronger.
My phone buzzed in my pocket, snapping me out of my thoughts.
It was a message from Hanni.
"Hey, Minji. We can meet up for bio later this week? :)"
I smirked. She was falling into the web, just as I had planned. The phone buzzed again, and I glanced down.
"Actually, are you free later today?"
I typed back quickly: "Sure, after classes."
The thrill coursed through me again. She had no idea what was coming.
---
Hanni POV:
I had to be subtle. I couldn't let on that I knew it was her, even though I was almost certain. The note... the handwriting, the tone—it all screamed Minji. I'd been following her online for weeks now, dissecting every post, every comment. This fit.
But I had to play it cool.
I sent her a message about bio, keeping it light, just as if I was asking any other classmate. But this wasn't just any study session. This was a chance to get closer to her, to watch her even more closely. And maybe, just maybe, I'd learn more about her little secret.
The note burned in my pocket like a promise.

Danielle POV:
"Hyein saw something hilarious today," I told Haerin as we sat down under the tree in the quad, trying to suppress my laughter. "She caught Minji acting all sketchy at Hanni's locker."
Haerin looked at me, her usual calm expression giving nothing away, but I knew she was curious.
"Really?" she asked softly.
"Oh yeah. Minji slipped some note into Hanni's locker and then bolted. And then Hanni read it and actually smiled. Like, who does that? It's so weird, but hilarious. They're both acting like they're in some spy movie."
Haerin's brow furrowed slightly. "Minji?" she repeated. "Like, our Minji?"
"Yup," I said, grinning. "Hyein saw the whole thing. It's kinda creepy, right?"
Haerin didn't say anything for a moment. She just nodded slowly, looking thoughtful. I could never tell what she was thinking, but she was always so... reserved.
"Yeah," she finally said. "Creepy."

Hyein POV:
Later, I met up with Dani and Haerin, still laughing about what I saw earlier. "I'm telling you, it was so weird," I said, plopping down next to Dani on the grass. "Minji's acting like a total weirdo, sneaking around like she's on some secret mission."
Haerin was quiet, just listening like she always did, but Dani was already in stitches.
"Minji?" Dani said, shaking her head. "That girl is something else."
I shrugged. "Hey, as long as they keep giving me entertainment, I'm good."

Minji POV:
From where I stood, I could see Hanni reading the note again. She was sitting alone under a tree, her eyes scanning the words, her lips moving ever so slightly as if tasting each sentence. My heart raced at the sight. She had no idea how much I watched her—how much I knew. But soon, she would.
I watched her tuck the note back into her bag and stand up. She glanced around, her eyes scanning the area, searching. For me, perhaps? My heart leapt at the thought, but I stayed hidden, waiting, watching.
This was only the beginning.
