Minji POV:
I sat across from Haerin in the campus café, sipping my coffee, unable to contain the smug grin tugging at my lips. Today was the day. Today, everything would fall into place, and Hanni would finally understand. The notes, the silent watching, all of it—she'd realize it was me, and she wouldn't be able to resist anymore.
"I've been planning this for weeks," I whispered, leaning in closer to Haerin, who barely looked up from her phone. "She's going to be tutoring me today, and I've left the perfect clues. It's subtle, you know, so clever that she'll never expect it. But just enough for her to start putting it together."
Haerin's eyes flicked toward me, her cat-like gaze unblinking. She let out a small sigh, clearly unimpressed. "Minji..." she began, her voice soft, like she was talking to a child who just didn't understand. "Are you sure this is... you know... a good idea?"
I scoffed, waving off her concern. "Of course, it is. She's practically begging for it, Haerin. I've been watching her for so long, I know exactly what she wants. She just doesn't realize it yet. And after today, she'll have no choice but to face the truth."
Haerin blinked, deadpan. "You're really... not as sneaky as you think."
I rolled my eyes. "Please, she doesn't have a clue. Trust me, this plan is flawless."
Haerin just stared, her face impassive, but I could see the faintest hint of disbelief in her eyes.
"You're an idiot," she muttered under her breath, but I ignored her. This was going to work.

Hanni POV:
The second I stepped into the study room, my heart skipped a beat. Minji was already sitting there, her notebook open, a pencil in hand, looking the picture of innocence. But I knew better now. I knew she wasn't innocent. She had been the one leaving me those notes. I was sure of it.
It wasn't just the coincidence of her always being around, or the fact that her schedule suddenly matched mine down to the minute. It was the feeling I got—the overwhelming sense of being watched. And then today... today, I found another note, tucked in my locker, in handwriting that was almost a perfect match for hers.
It had been her all along. And now we were sitting here, pretending we didn't already know everything about each other, as if this was just some casual study session. "Hey," she said, flashing me a bright smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "Ready to go over bio?"
I nodded, forcing myself to play it cool. "Yeah, I could use the help."
She was so calm, so confident. It almost made me doubt myself, but I had seen the truth. There was no hiding it anymore.
We went through the motions—reviewing the chapters, discussing concepts—but every moment felt like a game, a test of who could keep up the charade the longest. She asked me questions she already knew the answers to, and I responded with the same fake ignorance, as if I didn't already know everything about her.
Then it happened.

Minji POV:
It was going perfectly. Hanni is perfect. She was so beautiful when she was trying to act smart, flipping through her notes, her brows furrowed in concentration. I could hardly keep from staring.
And then, it happened.
I shifted in my seat, pulling out my bio textbook, and something fell from between the pages. A small slip of paper, folded neatly in half, fluttered to the floor.
Hanni's eyes immediately darted to it, her hand reaching out instinctively to pick it up.
No.
I watched in slow motion as she unfolded it, her face changing from confusion to shock. She recognized it instantly—it was one of the notes I had written. One of the ones I had carefully slipped into her locker just days ago. Shit. I had been so careful. How had I been so careless now?
She didn't say anything, just stared at the note, her lips pressed into a thin line. I could see the gears turning in her head, connecting the dots. This was it. The moment of realization.
But I couldn't let her know that I knew she knew.
This would ruin everything, she'd find out about me, about what I do. How much I was utterly obsessed. No... No... I'm not obsessed not at all, I just know what's best for Hanni, and what's best for Hanni is me. I wanted to show her I cared, why wouldn't she understand, it was only natural of me to want to learn more about my future wife. I was just planning in advance.
But what if she didnt understand, she'd think I was a stalker, a pervert. My mind started racing, I couldn't let her find out I needed to think of an excuse.
"Oh, uh, that's weird," I said, feigning ignorance. "Must've been something I picked up by accident." Good job Minji, totally got away with that, I thought as I mentally scolded myself.
Hanni looked up at me, her eyes narrowing. For a split second, I thought she might confront me, that she might say the words I was both dreading and longing to hear. But instead, she just nodded, her expression unreadable as she tucked the note into her bag without a word.
We continued our session, but everything had changed. I could feel it in the air between us—an electric charge, a shared secret that neither of us was willing to speak aloud.
But I knew, deep down, that this was only the beginning.

Hanni POV:
I watched her carefully after the note fell. She was panicking—I could see it in her eyes, the way her smile faltered for just a fraction of a second. She was caught, and she knew it.
But she didn't think I knew. She still thought she was in control, that she was the one pulling the strings. And for now, I'd let her believe that. After all, I wasn't afraid of her. If anything, it made me want her more. As I left the study session, the note burning in my bag, I realized that this game we were playing was far from over. She thought she was winning, that she was the one who had the upper hand. But she had no idea how far I was willing to go.

Haerin POV:
Later that day, I sat with Dani, listening as she babbled about Hanni's latest obsession with Minji. I tuned her out, my mind drifting to Minji's "perfect plan" that she had bragged about earlier.
It was almost cute.
If you ignore the creepy behaviour sure.
"And Hanni was all like, "SHE LOOKED AT ME FOR LIKE .5 SECONDS LONGER THAN SHE LOOKED AT EVERYONE ELSE! I'M TELLING YOU THERES POTENTIAL!", and I sat there laughing!" Dani explained as she recalled the story.
I kept looking at Dani, the way her eyes lit up when she talked about something she liked, her brows scrunching when she got confused, was this how Minji saw Hanni?
"You seem distracted again, whatcha thinkin about?", Dani asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Just thinking about how you look really pretty." I answered truthfully. (Minji could never)
Dani blushed at my words, giving me a peck on the check.
"What it's true? I don't tell lies"
"Such a flirt kitty"
"Learned from the best ;)"
