Minji POV:

I stared at the message on my phone, my heartbeat thundering in my ears.

>Unknown: I see you, Minji.

I quickly glanced around my room, paranoia seeping into my thoughts. How? Who? I'd been so careful. I planned every move meticulously, followed every precaution. No one could have seen me.

Another buzz.

> Unknown: You thought you were sneaky, but I know what you've been doing.

My fingers tightened around my phone as I reread the words, a wave of panic threatening to consume me. My mind raced, trying to pinpoint who could have sent it. Was it Hanni? She couldn't have figured me out... could she?

No, no. That wasn't possible. I was too careful. I covered my tracks. But still... I couldn't shake the feeling creeping into my bones.

Buzz.

> Unknown: Stop pretending. I know who you really are.

I forced myself to breathe, taking slow, measured breaths to calm the rising storm inside. Whoever this was, they didn't know anything. They were trying to scare me, that's all. I needed to stay in control.

I quickly typed out a response.

> Me: I don't know who you are, but this isn't funny. Who is this?

I waited, watching the screen, my breath shallow. Minutes dragged on, and my nerves were fraying. The silence was unbearable. Finally, the reply came.

> Unknown: You'll know soon enough.

My hands shook, but a chilling realization dawned on me.

Whoever this is, they know me... personally.

The way they were phrasing things, it felt familiar. Like they understood me, like they could see right through me. Could it be Hanni? No, she couldn't have figured me out.

But what if it was.

---

Hanni POV:

I couldn't help but smile as I stared at the last message I'd sent.

She's panicking. I know she is.

I stretched lazily on my bed, feeling a sense of satisfaction wash over me. The thought of Minji squirming, trying to figure out who was behind it all, made me giddy.

It was almost too easy.

After everything, the notes, the glances, the little clues, it all made sense now. Minji liked me back, just like I knew she would. The way she obsessed over me, just like I obsessed over her... it was almost poetic. But Minji was still hiding. She was keeping her real self locked away behind that perfect smile of hers.

I need to bring her out of her shell.

I need to see the real Minji.I scrolled through our messages again, smirking to myself.

Let her squirm. Let her think she's slipping up.

This was just the beginning.

She didn't know I was the one baiting her, pushing her into revealing herself. She thought she was safe, but I could see right through her. I always could.

I couldn't wait for her mask to crack.

Minji POV:

The next day, I put my plan into action. If I wanted to get rid of Sullyoon, I'd have to be smart about it. The best way to remove a threat is to get close, figure out their weaknesses. Make them trust you.

I spotted her at a cafe and made my move, sliding into the seat beside her with a friendly smile. "Hey, mind if I sit here?"

"Oh, not at all!" she beamed, her eyes crinkling at the edges. She was so... innocent, so unsuspecting. Perfect.

"My names Minji, what's yours?" I introduced myself, making sure to look over her for anything out of the ordinary.

"I'm Sullyoon, it's nice to meet you." she replied happily.

We started talking—small talk, really. Classes, the weather, typical surface-level stuff.

"I'm staying with someone I know, she goes to your school. Not sure if you know her but her name is Hanni."

Then, I casually slipped in the real question.

"Oh I do know her, she's a friend of mine. so, how do you know Hanni?"

Sullyoon's face lit up. "Oh, we've known each other since we were kids! Our families are super close. We practically grew up together."

Of course, I thought bitterly. You think you know her. I forced a polite smile. "That's so nice. You must be really close."

Sullyoon nodded, completely unaware of the dark thoughts brewing inside me. "Yeah, Hanni's always been there for me. She's such a good friend, you know?"

I smiled wider, but my thoughts were anything but pleasant.

Friend? Don't kid yourself. You're just in the way.

But I had to play the long game. I had to be patient. Soon enough, she'd be out of the picture, and Hanni would only have eyes for me. She was mine, after all.

---

Hanni POV:

I knew I had to step up my game. Minji was still playing her little innocent act, but I wasn't falling for it.

I know who you really are, Minji. And I'm going to drag it out of you.

We were studying together in the library, and I decided to test the waters. See how far I could push her.

"Minji," I started, my voice casual, "have you ever thought about what it would be like to just... not hold back?"

Minji looked up, her expression unreadable. "What do you mean?"

I leaned forward slightly, lowering my voice. "You know... stop pretending. Stop worrying about what people think. Just... be yourself. Do whatever you want."

Her eyes flickered for just a moment, and I caught it. She was thinking about it. "I don't think it's that simple," she said, her voice steady. "People have expectations."

There it is again.

She's hiding. She's so good at it, too. But not good enough. "Maybe. But wouldn't it feel freeing?" I pressed. "To stop pretending?"

Minji's lips curved into a small smile. "Maybe. But I guess I'm just not that kind of person."

I smiled back, though inside I was grinning. Nice try, Minji. But I know better.

---

Minji POV:

The entire day, I felt like I was being watched. I couldn't shake the feeling. Every time I looked over my shoulder, I expected to see Hanni's eyes on me, scrutinizing my every move. It was unnerving. But I couldn't let her see how rattled I was.

Later that evening, my phone buzzed again.

>Unknown: I see you.

My heart skipped a beat, but this time, instead of panic, I felt a sense of determination.

Hanni thought she could catch me? She had no idea what I was capable of.

I typed out a quick reply.

> Me: We'll see about that.

I hit send, a twisted smile playing on my lips. If she wanted to play games, then I'd play along. She wasn't the only one who could pull strings.

---

Hanni POV:

I read Minji's reply, and my heart raced with excitement. She was biting. Good.

"Soon, Minji," I whispered to myself, "Soon, you'll have no choice but to show me who you really are."

And when she did, I'd be right there, waiting for her.
