Loki walks through the halls, reading, when he suddenly trips over his own feet.
Jay catches him. "Woah! Careful there, dude!"
Loki blushes slightly. "Uh...thanks."
Jay helps him stand up. "No problem." He notices Loki dropped his book. "Oh! Here you go!" He picks up his book and hands it to him.
Loki's face flushes red. "Th-thanks." He takes the book and uses it to hide his face.
Jay chuckles. "Why are you hiding your face?"
Loki avoids eye contact. "No reason."
Jay shrugs. "Alright." He notices a ball hurdeling towards Loki and he quickly pulls him away, making him close to him.
Loki's face goes red. "Uh..."
Jay sighs. "Jeez, what is wrong with people now?"
Loki looks at Jay. "Uhm...y-yeah..."
Jay looks at Loki and realizes how close they are. "Guh." He pulls away. "S-sorry about that." His face flushes slightly red. "I just didn't want you to get hurt."
Loki blushes and hides his face. "I-it's fine. Thanks."
Jay smiles. "No problem." He notices Loki avoiding eye contact. "Hey...you...you know you can tell me anything, right?"
Loki looks at Jay. "I...I know..."
Jay nods. "Good. Because you're my best friend." He smiles.
Loki's eyes widen, not expecting that. "I...I'm your best friend?"
Jay nods, smiling.
"But..." Loki says. "Why? I mean...I'm a Slytherin, and you're a Hufflepuff. We...aren't supposed to be friends."
Jay nods. "That's true. But you're still my best friend."
Loki suddenly hugs Jay tightly. "Thank you..."
Jay's face flushes red and he hugs back. "Hey...no problem. I mean, we're both part of the community━"
Loki pulls away. "You mean the━"
"I-I have to go!" Jay exclaims, cutting him off and running away to his dorm room. He slams his door shut and slides down it. "Shit...that was so embarrassing...I almost just outed myself..." He covers his face with his hands, his face flushed red. "And in the worst way possible!" He groans. "What is wrong with me?" He sighs and takes his hands away from his face, looking at himself in the mirror. "This is so confusing...I've never felt that way about...anyone before...augh..." Her tucks his head in between his knees. "Why can't my brain just...brain?" He chuckles at his own joke, and then sighs. "Why can't I just...be normal?" Tears spill from his eyes, but he quickly wipes them away. "No. Guys don't cry." He stands up. "I should do something to get my mind off of this." He goes into his bedroom and goes outside to his basketball court. He gets a ball from the cart and starts playing.
A few hours pass, and Jay is still playing, when Loki startles him. "Hey."
"Ah!" Jay drops his ball and trips on it, landing on the left side of his leg. "Shit..." He sucks in a breathe through his teeth. "Ow, ow, ow..." He tries to stand up, but can't.
Loki rushes over to him. "Jay! Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! Are you okay!?"
"I-I'm fine..." Jay says, trying to stand up. "Shit...ow..." He sucks in a breath again.
"Are you sure?" Loki asks. "Because you look like you can't stand right now."
Jay is finally able to stand up. "There." He starts to lose his balance. "Woahhh!"
