The factory found a new sound - the gentle whine of a dog filling the void with hope.

The walk back to the factory had not been easy, but the pair's determination to help the dog had driven them on. The dog, apparently aware that help was approaching, had followed them with amazing perseverance.

As soon as they entered the factory with their visitor, they arranged a sleeping place made of blankets so that the dog could rest for the time being. He certainly hadn't slept a wink in a long time, because he must have been startled by every noise in this city. A good night's sleep was part of the healing process, so Kai had made it his job to lead him to his bed. "You can sleep here," he said, as if the dog understood his words. The dog sighed with relief and lay down carefully on the soft blankets, resting his head on his paws.

Soobin and Taehyun were nowhere to be found in the great hall, so the surprise remained a secret.

Meanwhile, Beomgyu had started sorting through the cables and other materials they had brought from the dump. He had put all the cables that could still be useful in a pile and began to separate the damaged and unusable parts. Shortly afterwards, Soobin and Taehyun entered the factory and saw this unexpected development. The former looked in surprise at the injured dog lying on the blankets. "Where did you get it?" Soobin asked his question cautiously, whereupon Kai and Beomgyu quickly explained the circumstances in which they had found the animal.

Taehyun also came closer to look at the wolfhound.

His expression showed pity and concern.

"The wound looks bad," Taehyun stated. "But we can certainly do something to treat it. We have bandages and antiseptic solutions."

"He's probably hungry too," Beomgyu added, looking at Soobin with a slight pout.

After all, he was the leader and it was up to him to decide what exactly they should do with the dog. But it was immediately apparent that Soobin was trying to stand firm. After all, he had to do what was best for everyone. "We've hardly got anything to eat," he muttered, but kept his eyes on the animal to react if anything happened. The group was faced with a moral dilemma. As they looked sympathetically at the injured dog, their first concerns began to surface. "And we also have to consider that an extra mouth to feed could cause more problems."

Taehyun, who had already fetched the necessary utensils from their supplies and started to carefully care for the dog, raised his eyes.

"I don't think it will be enough for one animal," he tried to list the biggest problem on a logical basis. "I'm sorry, Kai, but a dog can't feed itself. He's bound to get dirty quickly and bring lots of germs with him. If we get sick too, we won't have the possible supplies to ..."

"Wait!"

Now Beomgyu intervened, jumping to his feet and grimacing because he could understand all the arguments. And he secretly agreed with his friends, but his thoughts were all about Kai. "I'll take care of the dog," the long-haired man promised, making an effort to change Soobin and Taehyun's minds. "I'll get his food, I'll groom him and take care of him. Please."
