When Tuesday rolled around, there was a part of me that felt bad taking my homework to school as Anthony did it for me, I tried not to think too much of it as I laid the paper down on my teacher's desk.

Then on Wednesday, I anxiously waited all day to receive my homework back. God, I hoped she wouldn't notice that wasn't my handwriting on the worksheet.

Ms. Lincoln strolled around the classroom with the homework in her hands. "I want to know one thing; why is everyone suddenly doing so well on the homework? Are you all cheating or what?"

Everyone in the class laughed and assured her that wasn't the case, it was just really easy.

Me, on the other hand, was even more anxious now. She knew, didn't she?

"Let's see, we'll start with Garrett." She placed my homework face down on my desk and patted it.

I waited for her to walk away to flip it over, an A plus looked back to me. The first one I had gotten all year, but I didn't think I deserved it. After all, this was Anthony's work.

I placed the paper into my folder and set my head down on the desk as class got started, we were learning about triangles or something, I had no idea why they were upside down or what a sin was or even a radius but I was ready to learn.

I picked my head up and opened my notebook, as Ms. Lincoln was writing on the chalkboard, I tried to pay attention as much as I could but I was notorious for falling asleep in class and that eventually got to me, could I really be blamed? It was  seventh period after all.

The bell rang, making me jump up from the sudden noise. Right in front of me was the homework for today. For once, I was kind of embarrassed, why did I fall asleep during the lesson? I had promised to really try today.

I took the paper and my old homework and headed to my locker to pack my stuff up.

Surprisingly enough, Anthony was the one who answered the door when I got home from school. "Garrett, nice to see you."

"Hey," I said tiredly, "Is my mom home?"

"She left for the store, I'm afraid it's just going to be us today." He held the door open for me to enter.

I walked past him, getting a whiff of his cologne, it smelled nice, a mix of sandalwood and pine. It reminded me of something my dad would wear.

I was hoping I would come home and continue my nap but that looked like that wasn't going to be happening.

I sat down at the table across from him and unpacked my school bag.

"Now, Garrett, what did you get on your homework today?" Anthony leaned forward across the table.

I smiled as I pulled the paper out to show him, "I know you did it for me, but-"

"I wanted to do it for you, just to show you how much I care about you." He tapped the shiny red A plus, "This is what I hope you can achieve on your own."

"I will, thanks again." I couldn't stop smiling, I was starting to feel like I could trust him.

Anthony nodded, "Let's get back to work. So, what are we learning today?" He looked at my textbook and the halfhearted written notes that I made in class. "Ah, my favorite. Trigonometry."

I groaned and leaned back into my chair, "Can we skip that? I literally fell asleep today," I looked at a disapproving Anthony and quickly changed my attitude, "I mean, after taking some notes."

"Hm, we're gonna have to work on keeping you awake. I understand that you're under stimulated but math can really be interesting when you get it down." He took the pencil that was next to him and studied the textbook page.
