Anthony had left a little while after our encounter yesterday, making sure to give me a good kiss before heading out the door. "The real work starts tomorrow."For some reason, that made me feel sick. I didn't have the desire to do much after hearing that so I spent the rest of the day eating and dozing.
When dinner time came around, I remembered that we had a menu from my favorite Chinese restaurant. My parents didn't like to order from it often since the food was really unhealthy, but they weren't here now and they left me money for food so the choice for dinner wasn't that hard.
I usually ate in the dining room at the table but what was the fun in that while your parents are gone?
I was feeling adventurous and ate on the couch. But it ended badly when I stained it with soy sauce. I promptly moved back to the table after realizing the stain would not budge.
I easily stayed up well past midnight, I was on break so I didn't have a care at all! It was actually really relaxing.
"What happened to sharing my bed with you, Anthony? Wasn't that one of your rules? I had said out loud before I laid down in bed, imagining saying that to him. It felt good to finally talk back to him.
Since I went to bed so late, I woke up late. I realized I'm an extremely heavy sleeper when I get into it. I shuffled into the bathroom and got ready for another peaceful day of doing nothing but eating and watching tv.
When I came downstairs, craving something sweet for breakfast, I was surprised to see Anthony waiting for me at the kitchen table.
"Good morning, Garrett," He glanced at the watch on his arm, "Well, technically it's afternoon. How did you sleep?"
I just grunted at him and walked into the kitchen and started rummaging through the cabinets.
You can get through this, just ignore him. I told myself as I looked around for something to eat.
Disappointed that I couldn't find anything sweet, I settled for granola and went into the refrigerator to get some yogurt.
"Perhaps you didn't hear me," Anthony stood up from the table and joined me in the kitchen. "Good morning, Garrett."
"What? Good morning, what do you want?" I spooned the yogurt into a bowl.
"I just finished up our lesson plan for next week! Aren't you excited?" He said.
I looked at him with disdain, "Not really, I'm on break. I wanna relax."
Anthony returned my look, "You had all day yesterday to relax, you still have to work over break. You don't want to forget everything you learned right?"
"Well, actually, I won't even need math when I'm a tattoo artist." I said as I licked my spoon thoughtfully.
"Oh, I hate that argument. Math is all around you, Garrett. If you spent more time doing your review sheets than sleeping you would know that." Anthony said.
"Yeah, yeah I've heard it all before." I picked up my bowl and pushed past him to the living room.
I think Anthony knew what I was about to do because he immediately stopped me, "Young man, we eat in the dining room."
"I ate on the couch yesterday," I decided not to tell him about the soy sauce stain now covered with a pillow. "You're not my parents, I don't have to listen to you."
"But, I'm an adult. You need to respect me." Anthony tapped the table, "Sit down."
I rolled my eyes and plopped down on the nearest chair. "I can eat now?"
