AN: This is from Anthony's pov

I didn't want to believe it. This wasn't supposed to happen. He shouldn't be leaving me.

Well, all good things must come to an end at one point.

But, he had been my only great thing for a while, why was everything taken away from me? Couldn't I have something to myself for once?

You don't deserve anything, you'll never be good enough. My mother's voice ran through my head. I pinched the bridge of my nose to stop the dark thoughts. Her words always came into my mind at the worst times.

"I guess this is it, I hope you realize how difficult you've made everything." I said, making no attempt to be polite.

Garrett pushed his smooth blond hair out of his eyes, "You mean, this is your fault right? I didn't make anything difficult." He said the word like it disgusted him.

"But you did, if you would just," I stopped talking and glared at him. "Forget it, you're just going to make me say something I'll regret."

"Or do something, maybe that's a good thing I'm leaving." He replied as he looked at the departing flights board.

"You know, you can always call me or come visit me whenever you like." I said.

"I might, or I'll never see you again. Preferably the second one." Garrett turned around and started walking to the gate.

I was about to let him go before a wave of panic set over me. What was I doing? Was I really going to let him go?

"Young man, get back here." I demanded, "We are not going to end things like that."

"Yeah?" He turned around, "How do you want to end it?

I reached my arms out, "Come here, let me hug you one more time. Let me feel you in my arms again."

"You gotta stop acting so creepy." He looked around carefully then reluctantly let me hug him.

"I love you." I whispered into his ear, I already knew he wasn't going to say it back but I didn't care.

He sighed and squeezed me tight, "Bye, Anthony. Thanks for.. everything I guess."

"Good luck with college , I wish I could be more available for you but," I paused, "Life happens."

Garrett looked like he wanted to punch me, I couldn't blame him, I suppose I technically ruined his life. Actually, not really, only a small part of his life. He was still young enough to succeed.

"Now boarding the Los Angeles flight, please have your tickets ready when you get to the gate." An announcement was made over the loud speakers. It was time.

"I'll walk with you to the gate." I said quickly before he could say no.

We headed to the gate where there was a long line of people who looked anxious to get on the plane.

"Now you can say this is it." Garrett grinned at me.

For some reason that grin infuriated me, he knew he had won this, he was going to escape, and I was powerless for once.

"This is it," I patted his head, "Goodbye, my favorite student."

It was my turn to smile as he grimaced at my words. "See you later, Anthony."

I let him get into line and watched as he soon boarded the plane, giving me one last forlorn look over his shoulder.

I waved back and went over to the window to see his plane take off. I wasn't sad anymore, there was no need to be, life has to go on after all. Besides, I knew Garrett would keep his mouth shut.

I pressed my forehead against the glass and watched as the plane took off and traveled through the sky. My Garrett was officially gone.

I waited until I could no longer see the plane and took out the letter I received last week, something that I had hidden from Garrett, and traced the stamp as I opened it again with a smile.

Dear Mr. DeVille,

We are so excited that you have accepted our offer to tutor Noah this year. We look forward to meeting you next week for a chat about you. Expect a call for details on
where we'll be meeting. Thank you again for accepting and we will see you soon.

Sincerely, Mrs. Davis

It was impressive how people could be so stupid, no one has ever suspected anything about me, I could keep getting away with this. Oh, it's almost too easy.

"On to the next one." I whispered and stuffed the letter into my pocket. I looked out the window once more and turned around to go home.
