We had been in New York for about two weeks at that point and most of it was spent inside.
Anthony claimed that he didn't feel good, which I deemed to be sort of true as I would hear him get up in the middle of night and be throwing up.
Well, I thought bitterly. He deserved it, horrible people rot from the inside first.
But, now that he was feeling better and didn't need me to cuddle him while he complained about his stomach hurting, he was back to his old tricks.
I hadn't heard a single word from my parents since we got here, I was nervous and frustrated every time I tried to call home and got a busy signal.
Apparently they called all the time Anthony assured me, when I was in the shower, sleeping, anytime I wasn't around it seemed. He also said that I shouldn't be racking up the phone bill since it would be a long distance phone call.
"Are you sure they know that I'm here?" I asked as I stood in front of him with my arms folded.
"Garrett, why would I lie to you? They know you're safe and with me." He replied.
"Okay, let me call them." Gotcha. I smiled with satisfaction.
Anthony didn't look fazed, "They won't answer, your mother told me yesterday that they're doing some work at the house, something was wrong with the power and they had to unplug the phones. I don't really understand electrical work so if that sounds weird," He laughed. "It's because I'm useless with that stuff.
"Alright," I said, feeling deflated. "I just wanted to call and check on them. I'm sure they miss me."
"Oh, of course they do. It's just that, you're getting older and you have to stop being so dependent on your parents. They're not going to be around forever, you know." Anthony said.
I rolled my eyes. "You don't know what you're talking about. I'm not dependent on my parents."
"I've had a lot of experience, young man. I'm not saying you have to cut off your parents completely but maybe start... distancing yourself. The older you get, the harder it'll be." He smiled like he told some great advice.
He really was crazy, I thought. "Yeah, but unlike your parents, mine love me, so I think I'll continue to be in contact with them."
"Garrett, remember how I said to not test my limits?" He asked sweetly.
I shrugged, "Yeah? What, you're getting mad now? Maybe stop giving stupid advice."
"Young, man." He glared, "Cut it out."
"Yes, sir." I said sarcastically and sat down on the bed next to him.
"Hm, I like that." Anthony wrapped his arm around me. "I actually wanted to do something with you, today."
"What's that? Are we gonna leave the hotel? We haven't been out for two days." I said.
"I know, my love. But, today I wanted to show you something special." He leaned in close to me, "Take off your clothes."
When I stared at him blankly, he frowned. "I meant now, and call me sir again."
"Yes, sir." I repeated and took my shirt off.
"Good boy," He whispered, "Very good boy." He started to unbutton his shirt, "You're going to love this."

"And that," Anthony leaned over and kissed my neck, "Is what I call my specialty."
I smiled tightly and wrapped the blanket around me, "That was great."
