I stormed into Principal Figgins' office, the door slamming behind me."You can't do this, Principal Figgins!" My voice came out louder than I meant it to, but I didn't care.

Figgins barely looked up from his desk, it was like he didn't care—like this was just another problem on his long list of things to ignore. "It's out of my hands, Anderson. There is nothing I can do about it now."

"Out of your hands?" I spat, my voice trembling, not from fear, but from the sheer frustration of being ignored, of Kurt being ignored. "It was in your hands the moment Kurt told you that Karofsky was giving him crap. Now look—Kurt transferred, and Karofsky is still parading around here like he owns the place."

Figgins sighed, leaning back in his chair. "I'm sorry your friend transferred," he said, his tone annoyingly calm. "But what could I have done? Expel the kid? I couldn't do that to him and his career."

My hands balled into fists at my sides. "Yet if it was someone in Glee, we would have been out of the school on our butts the second someone complained. But when it's Karofsky, you do nothing. You just let Kurt walk away. You let him run for his life." I spun on my heel, slamming the door behind me as I left his office.

And then, there he was. Karofsky. Walking down the hall like he didn't have a care in the world. His smug face twisted into a smirk, and something inside me snapped. Without thinking, without hesitation, I shoved him hard against the lockers.

"What is wrong with you?" I shouted, "You think you can just threaten the life of someone who has done absolutely nothing but walk around here, not saying a single word? You're pathetic."

Karofsky's eyes flared in surprise, but instead of trying to fight back he just shoved me off. "Get off of me," he growled, his voice low.

I stood my ground, my fists clenched, "You don't deserve to be here. You don't deserve to get away with this. You made Kurt's life hell, and you're walking around like it means nothing."

"Mr. Shue, I have an announcement. I've selected the perfect ballad for us to sing at sectionals." Rachel announced.

Rachel had a way of making every moment about herself, like the rest of us didn't even exist. Her need for the spotlight was suffocating.

Mr. Shue smiled and nodded like her interruption was perfectly normal. "That's great, Rachel. But I was actually planning to give Lila the ballad at sectionals." His eyes landed on me, and I blinked, startled. "And I've decided to feature Mike and Brittany's sweet moves."

The room went still. Rachel's voice sliced through the air again, "That's not fair. She sang at sectionals last year."

Before I could even react, Mercedes' voice rang out, "And you've sung almost every solo in this damn club."
