It took a few days, but Steve finally worked everything out. We packed up the few clothes that I had bought, and headed out. When we finally reached our destination, I got out of the car to see a huge building labelled "Avengers." Steve had told me that that was what his team called themselves.

We were greeted by a man walking towards us. When he was finally close enough for me to see, I realised why Steve hadn't told me who's lab I'd be using.

At first, I couldn't even believe it. At first, my brain jumped to the one person that it could be, even if that was impossible. Howard.

As the man got closer, I realised it wasn't Howard. Though the resemblance was insane, it still clearly wasn't him. But I knew who it was.

My eyes filled with tears. I couldn't look away. He was older than me now. Much older. When he got to me, he stopped and stared.

"Well, well, well," he shook his head. "If it isn't the smartest person of her time."

"Tony Stark," I sniffed. "I can't believe it."

"Neither can I. I've heard stories about you. Although it was always a rough topic for Dad. He didn't even tell me you existed until I was 13. And even then, he sometimes couldn't even finish the stories of the Great Y/n Y/l/n."

"Tony... I am so, so sorry. I..."

He shrugged. "Hey, it wasn't you, right? I already tried killing your boyfriend for what you guys did. But it wasn't him either."

I didn't even remember Bucky being on that mission. Or any mission, I guess.

"So we're trying to get your memory back, eh? I mean, I see you remember my Dad alright."

"She remembers almost everything, Tony," Steve put in. "She just needs help getting some of who she is back. And remembering Bucky."

"You don't remember your boyfriend?" he asked me.

I sighed and shook my head.

"Well that's awkward."

"He's not my boyfriend," I mumbled.

Tony rolled his eyes. "Okay, let's head inside. Steve, she's in good hands and I promise not to kill her."

"Believe me," I sighed. "You couldn't if you tried."

Tony took me into his lab and showed me around. "So I was thinking we could start off by letting you take a look at Rhodey's new legs."

"Okay."

The man called Rhodey came in and sat down. I touched one of his legs, not really sure what I was supposed to be doing.

"Well?" Tony asked, looking down at me.

"I'm not sure what you want me to be doing," I admitted.

Tony sighed. "Do you remember what you used to work on with my dad?"

"I know I helped complete the super soldier procedure."

"Anything else?"

"We analysed some HYDRA tech..."

"Right. You're a biochemist with mechanics and computers also under your belt. So how are these legs doing on Rhodey? He's a living organism with a machine helping him walk."

"Tony," Rhodey cut in. "Give her some time. She just got here."

"Look, Tony," I sighed. "I think these new legs are just fine. I don't know. There's nothing wrong with them. Let me build something."

Tony raised an eyebrow. "What do you wanna build?"

I shrugged. "What kinda tools do you have?"

Rhodey snorted. "Please. You name it, this idiot has it."
