Zemo was being kept in a German prison.

"He's just through that corridor," a security guard told us.

"Aright, give us a sec," Barnes said to him.

The man nodded and walked off.

"I'm gonna go in alone," Barnes said, which made no difference to me since I'd planned on waiting outside anyway.

"Why?" Sam asked.

"'Cuz you're an Avenger. You know how he feels about that."

"Look, it's not like you two were known for frolickin' in the sun together," Sam stated.

"He was obsessed with HYDRA," Barnes pointed out. "We have a history together. Trust me. I got it."

He walked away before Sam could even argue.

"You trust him?" I asked.

"I have no idea."

We only waited there for a few minutes, before another guard walked up to me. "Ms Y/n Y/l/n?" he asked. He was American.

"Yes?" I asked.

"May I speak to you about something?" he asked, before looking briefly at Sam. "Privately?"

"I... really don't think that's necessary..." I told him.

He sighed. Before I could process what was happening, he had his shotgun in his hand and smacked Sam in the head. "I was worried you'd say that. So I came prepared."

"What the fuck?" I asked, fists raised. I ran at him, but only made it a few steps before he shot me in the stomach. I fell to my knees and tried to get back up, before he shot me again near the same place.

"Careful," he said. "Be quiet, and this will go nicely." He then knelt beside me, injecting something into my arm.

"What are you doing?" I choked out.

Only moments after the substance had entered my body, I began feeling even weaker, and more tired. I could feel myself start to fade. I fought hard to stay awake, but I couldn't do it, and soon enough, I was out.

When I woke up, I was in a dark room, and something cold was pressing hard against my back. When I regained full conciseness, I realised I was vertical, but something strong kept my head, arms, legs and torso stuck to the cold thing on my back.

"Good, you're awake," the man from the prison said.

"Who are you?" I croaked.

"I'm just a HYDRA man that SHIELD helped get to the top. SHIELD liked having government people on their side. I was one of the many undercover HYDRA agents there. That's my story. What's yours?"

I clenched my fists. "If I'm here, I'm guessing it's because you already know mine."

The man smiled. "True, true."

"Look. As you know, I've done the whole hostage thing once before, and I didn't really like it. But here's the thing. Now, I have a Super Soldier friend that's usually angry at the world and still half in love with me, a guy that can fly, another guy in a big grey Iron Man suit, and a lot more Avengers that will come for me the moment Barnes and Sam tell them I'm missing. I don't think you wanna be around when they find me."

The man smiled. "They aren't going to find you. I know who your friends are, believe me. And if you don't think that I've chosen the most secure location, then you most certainly aren't as smart as I thought you were."

"They will find me. Either that, or I'll break out."

The man smirked, before walking towards a large desk. He pressed a button, and pain shot through my entire body. It was in my head, too. Pounding from the inside. I resisted the urge to scream. "You'll be much too weak to break out." He pressed the button again.

This time, I couldn't stop the small whimper that escaped my lips. "Why are you doing this?" I asked when it stopped, my voice hoarse.

"Because I'm worried that you're much too strong for what I have planned. For what I'll need you for." The way his lips curled told me exactly what he meant.

"Please," I gasped. "Don't. I'm a monster."

"I know. And hopefully, you'll become a monster under my control."

"Fuck you," I seethed, just as he pressed the button again. I yelped, grinding my teeth to keep from giving him the satisfaction of hearing me scream.
