"What attracted you to my son in the first place?" She looked at me with a peculiar expression on her face.

"Well... it's kind of a funny thing." I replied, shyly.

It's Monday evening. I am inside Headmaster Lockwood's office in the third tower of the Ravenwood Academy with Jayden and his parents. First, his mother challenged me with a provocation that I responded in kind, then she went on to confirm or deny the pieces of information about me that were passed by her father.

It was my chance to tell my own story and defend my point of view. Now that it is done, we are getting to the nitty gritty of my relationship with Jayden. It was a short relationship of only one month, but it was enough for me to fall in love with him.

"I met Jayden when he was stepping out of a shower stall that he was not supposed to use in the first place. He came across as just another arrogant Alpha that this place seems to have by the bulk." I continued, timidly but determined.

"After that first encounter, he won me over with his irresistible charm and amazing good looks, which I see now that he inherited from you. No offense, Luna." In one go, I complimented the mother and son but acknowledged that his father was also here and not bad looking.

"There is something about Jayden... I don't know how to phrase it exactly. He could be just like any other privileged Alpha, but he is not. He is humble and attentive. He never made me feel smaller or less than other students here. He encouraged me to assert myself and told me I deserved an Alpha of his caliber when I had learned his famous last name that he purposefully withheld from me at first." I turned to look at him, smitten.

"He made me feel seen, valid. He made me believe I was enough for him despite my humble background. In fact, he never cared about that. He just cared about me and I was instantly enthralled by him. He just... is. I don't know if that makes sense." I stumbled at my own words as I tried to describe how I felt about her son.

Jayden and I exchanged a longing glance, our eyes twinkled with emotions and a glistening joy that was clear to see. The truth is Jayden is the boy I was sent here for. A true born Alpha with a heart of gold.

I was enchanted looking at him by my side for what felt like forever until Alpha Lockwood cleared her throat, drawing our attention back to her, the woman of the hour.

"I believe I have everything I need for now. If I remember correctly from my time as a student here, now it's time for dinner. I don't want you kids to be late." She smiled at her son and me, politely ushering us out of the door.

She and her husband were going to have dinner with her father in this tower. Faculty eats here, separately from the students. That is also useful whenever a parent is visiting. There are also guest rooms in this tower for that purpose.

We said goodbye to the Alpha and Luna and walked together to the first tower. Jayden held my hand as we walked, excitedly.

"How do you think I did? Is your mother ready to ban me from being in the same room with you?" I asked Jayden, apprehensively.

"Are you kidding me? She loved you! You hit it out of the park! You are amazing! I love you!" He replied, enthusiastically.

Jayden turned to me as we reached the first tower and laid a wet kiss on me that had my head spinning.

Sometime later, we sat down with trays of food in our respective sections of the cafeteria. Most of the students were already eating dinner by now.

"How was it? Jayden seems excited." Seth quizzed me, interested in the outcome.

"Like a job interview, except I never got to lie on my resume. Someone else did it for me and I had to set the record straight." I replied, honestly. I am still peeved at Headmaster Lockwood for the way he described me to his daughter. As if I was a savage with no education. Come on! How do you think I got here in the first place? It's insulting!
