Is he being serious?

I think I must've blacked out for a moment there because I could've sworn Headmaster Lockwood just told me that Alpha Stronghold sent him an email informing him that I had been approved as Skylar's prospect.

"What? Are you serious?" Skylar was baffled in shock at that announcement, we all were. I could hear all the students in the auditorium gasp at the same time after that bomb was dropped.

"What do you think, Mr. Stronghold? I'll let you contemplate that for a moment." Lockwood replied to him in a snarky tone.

"Oh, my Goddess!" Seth gasped in shock, staring at me by my side in the aisle of seats.

"How could that happen? I thought he would never allow that!" I am beyond shocked right now.

Skylar moved in my direction but Jayden expertly pulled him back from it, which got the two Alphas staring at each other. Jayden kept Skylar in place next to him in the aisle.

"It doesn't change anything! It does not mean that Jake is yours. He still has to decide!" Jayden warns him with a ferocious glare.

"What did you think I was going to do? Mate with him right here in the auditorium? Can you let go of me, please?" Skylar called him out while he was still holding him back. He grunted in annoyance but dropped his hold of his roommate.

In a moment, Skylar was hugging me in the corridor to the front door. It was impossible not to feel his love and how much he wanted that to happen. It was very touching to me.

After that, we left the auditorium while the news was buzzing through the corridor by all the students who never thought that this could ever come to pass.

"Did someone threaten your father or something? Because I cannot understand how the hell he gave ME his permission." I asked Seth, perplexed, as we walked back to our dorm room.

"My father is not the type to be threatened. Usually, he does the threatening. The only person who could have that kind of leverage on him is my mother." Seth replied, still shocked about it.

"You must have made some very big promises if your mom texted you that 'an Alpha must always keep their word'." Kyle reminded Skylar of his promise to his parents. Though none of us knew what kind of promises those were.

"Oh right. That's what that text from my mom meant! Oh my Goddess! My dad owns me now!" Skylar was baffled at the realization. I am sure he pledged the world for his father to have agreed with this.

"Your father has always owned you, but now Jake has the option of choosing you as his prospect. That's historical." Kyle cheered, walking ahead with him and the other Alphas. Skylar smiled at that sentence.

"I am still grappling with that fact, really. I don't know how my mother got through to him. But I absolutely love her for it! She is remarkable!" His jaw had dropped to the floor.

"I am not going to lie, I have been texting my mom, telling her how worried I was about my brother. Not saying that was enough, but I never saw him acting this way about anyone before. Skylar once had Santos stay up all night, trying to buy him concert tickets for a Beyoncé show in Houston. He is not the type to spend an hour in a van only to buy flowers for a boy he can't even kiss. That's not my brother!" Seth blurted, shocked by his behavior.

Skylar turned around to face me in the long corridor.

"I can kiss him. I could've always kissed him. But I was waiting for him to want me to." He declared, boldly. I got flustered by the intensity of his gaze on me.

"I swear to Goddess, if you don't shut up I'll murder you!" Jayden threatened him, glaring so many daggers at Skylar that a lesser person would lower their head in fear.
