Summer
I sat on Zoe and Alfie's couch. I hadn't talked to them since.... since I left... Zoe was rubbing my back while Alfie had to film for his channel.
"I... I still love him, Zo..." I choked out. "I don't know what to do.."
"He is really sorry... He never stopped talking about you. I could tell he was sorry. He would never do that to you, Sums." She gave me a half smile, trying to cheer me up.
"You didn't see what I saw... She was all over him..." I sobbed.
"He told me everything.... She mounted him. I know my little brother. I know when he's lying and when he is telling the truth. He was telling the truth, Summer." She gave me a look full of pity.
"Really?" I sniffed, looking up.
She nodded.
"Mummy, I'm hungry!" Little Zoe waddled out. I silently thanked her for a change of topic.
I wiped my eyes and stood up I picked her up. "Okay. Is Connor hungry too?"
"Yes!" She nodded vigorously.
She always made me laugh. I walked to the kitchen and looked in the cupboards. "What do you want?"
"Peanut butter and jelly!" She screamed, laughing.
"Okay." I laughed and set her down. "Go get brother and I'll have them done when you get back."
She ran out of the room screaming "Brother!"
I quickly made two sandwiches. I set them on plates and put them on the table. Little Zoe came running in holding Connor's hand. "I got Connor, mummy!"
I smiled at her enthusiasm. They sat down at the table and began eating. I walked out to the garden and sat down in the grass. I curled my legs up to my chest and laid my head on my knees.
