Joe
I got in my car and drove to the Zalfie residence. I didn't know if Summer was there but it was my best bet. I knocked on their door and Zoe answered.
"Oh hey Joe.." She had a sad look on her face. "She's out in the garden."
I walked past her and saw Connor and little Zoe eating peanut butter and jelly at the table. I kissed their foreheads and went to the screen door. Summer was sitting down with her knees to her chest. Her blonde hair was up in a messy bun. I slid open the door and she looked over. Her face lit up for a millisecond and then sunk. I made my way over to her.
"Summer..." I whispered, sitting down next to her.
"What do you want Joseph?" She snapped and then started crying. "I'm sorry.."
"It's okay.." I raised my hand to hug her but put it back down awkwardly.
"I just... I need to be alone right now, Joe.." She looked up at me. "To think.."
I stood up. "Okay.." I leaned down close to her ear. "Think about this: What happened to forever?" I whispered and walked back inside.
