Joe

I drove to the hospital quickly, trying to hide my worried expression. Finally, I parked in the lot and got out, Summer following close behind.

"Hello." The woman behind the desk smiled.

"Hi." I explained the problem and signed the papers. Summer sat in the empty waiting room.

"Summer Breeze?" A man asked, staring down at a clipboard.

"Yes." She sat up straighter and stood up. She glanced at me and motioned that I should follow her. I did as she said.

"Okay, so you are experiencing head aches, irritation to light and sound?" He said. His name tag read Dr. Oglesby.

"Um... yes." She nodded. "Also if I walk too much or do exercise I get out of breath easily."

"Okay. I'll just do a few tests and figure out what seems to be the problem." He stood up and pointed at a weight scale. "Take off your jacket and shoes and stand on that please."

She did as he said.

"102 lb." He nodded and wrote down the information. He did many more things and told me to leave.

"Okay.." I kissed her and walked out.

"Joe Sugg?" Dr. Oglesby called my name, his voice full of dread. I got up and followed him to the room where I had left Summer. She was sitting in a bed crying.

"Joe... I'm sorry..." She whispered as I entered.

"What? What's wrong?" Concern spread across my face.

"She was diagnosed with a type of lung cancer." The doctor said grimly. "Since we found it so late there is a 20% chance that she will live."

"She has what?" I couldn't believe my ears.

"I'm sorry."

"No..... no...." My knees gave out and I crashed to the floor. "No..." I whispered again. "She'll make it. Summer you have to make it... Please.... Remember little Zoe and Connor..."

She only nodded, no words leaving her mouth.

"Summer..... you have to live.... you have to...... you have...... you...." I stopped forming complete sentences. The world was spinning. Tears blurred my vision. I couldn't see straight. Everything was happening way too fast.
