In the preparation room, Ash opened the box that Serena had given him earlier.

There was a bottle of energy drink, a Pokepuff, and a short letter written by Serena.

Hey honey,

It's the finals! I am so happy that you reached this point! You are at least the top 2 strongest pokemon trainers in the world. No matter the results, you are already the very best, like no one ever was.

Here I have prepared a small snack for you to eat before the match. Always get charged up and ready for the most important pokemon battle in your life.

If Leon really sent out Eternatus, I want you to fight it with your full power. No need to care about us, we will take care of ourselves and find somewhere safe. You and your team have trained enough to go all out against Leon and his team, you will get this!

Love,
Serena

Ash smiled and ate the snacks she had prepared for him. He knew there was a high possibility that Eternatus would be sent out, and the only thing he could hope was that it would be less destructive and that his friends would survive.

And my friends will survive...

He sent out his team, letting them get the stretch and warmups before the battle. While he was excited to challenge Leon at the top of the world stage, he couldn't help but feel worried about the potential legendary pokemon wreaking havoc on the place.

He briefed his team, "Guys! Today is the day for all of our training efforts to bear fruit and to show to the world that you are the strongest battlers out there. We are the Champions, my friends!"

They did a high five and cheered, all getting hyped up.

"Challenger Ash Ketchum, please proceed to the battlefield."

The AI speaker announced, and Ash retrieved them into their Pokeballs. The doors to the battlefield slid open. Crowd cheers blasted into his ears. The real deal was here.

He checked his three gimmicks and walked to the battlefield with his multiple Pokeballs. It was a flat battlefield. The night was chill, but the atmosphere wasn't. In front of him was Leon, who was also slowly walking into the field, but the difference was that Leon was wearing his Champion attire with all the sponsors on his cape. Ash, however, was just in his short-sleeved T-shirt and shorts, as if he came to Wyndon Stadium just to travel. The young boy still didn't understand why Journeys designed him like this.

The judge was riding on his Magnezone, and he instructed Leon and Ash to come over as he explained the same old rules that I am not going to repeat. The two challengers gave an appreciative nod and returned to their respective positions.

Ash looked around and located his peers. He was so glad he met these friends during his travels. They grew with him, made him realize his strengths and mistakes, and adventured together in different regions. Together, they created many memories, which shaped who Ash is today.

Looking in front, Leon was closing his eyes, holding his Pokeball in his right hand...

Was he...nervous?

"Challengers, please send out your first pokemon in 3...2...1!"

Leon's sound was a lot softer than before, "Dragapult, get to work."
