Dynamax particles flowed from underground to the Pokeball Leon was holding. It expanded until it got too heavy for Leon to hold it with both his hands. The World Champion threw the enlarged Pokeball into the field, and there came the Gigantimaxed Charizard.

The Strongest Charizard in the World had finally appeared. He has always been the ultimate goal of all pokemon trainers. He has always been the one to knock out all of the aces of the fellow Champions. He is the ace of the ace.

Ash and Lucario, however, were catching their breaths

Ash and Lucario, however, were catching their breaths. Their previous fight against Urshifu had consumed them with way too much aura. There was not enough energy left in Lucario's reserves. It would be tough for Lucario to battle against Charizard too.

But Leon didn't let Lucario rest, "Max Airstream!"

Charizard opened his mouth wide, and a huge storm of tornado was fired at Lucario. Being exhausted, dodging was not the best option for Lucario – countering directly with another move was better in terms of conserving energy.

Lucario centered his palms and concentrated aura in between. A silver-colored Steel Beam was shot from the energy point. The two blasts of energy met in the middle of the field, but powered by Gigantimax energy, Max Airstream was pushing back the Steel Beam energy, threatening Mega Lucario.

Ash was panting from providing aura to Lucario telekinetically, "More power! Come on, Lucario!"

Lucario screamed, and the Steel Beam expanded in size, giving more force to slow down the threat from Max Airstream.

"Just a bit longer!"

Lucario stepped forward and pushed his paws forward, giving his last-ditch effort to counter the max move.

*BOOM*

The moves canceled off each other. Despite being boosted by mega-evolution energy and aura enhancements, using a normal move to counter a max move was an achievement in itself.

Ash and Lucario knelt down from exhaustion, "YES! Two moves left! You've got this, Lucario!"

It was Leon's turn to grin confidently, "Don't let him rest! Time for our ace move! G-Max Wildfire!"

Charizard heated up the flames on his wings before flapping them out. The fire took the shape of a huge flaming bird and began flying at Lucario.

While breathing heavily, Lucario gathered aura between his paws at the right of his waist. He knew the fire bird would strike twice based on Leon's previous competition footage, so he had to time the attack very carefully...

The bird was fast approaching. A small blue orb of Aura Sphere emerged between his paws, but that kind of size was far from enough to go against the enormous fire bird of G-Max Wildfire.
