"So what will it be, Mina? Me or her?"
Mina clenched her jaw as she glowered at Mark who had a stupid cocky smirk. He spinned his phone with his index finger and thumb, seemingly to humiliate her.
It was clear what Mark wanted from her so it was useless to try and negotiate with him. However, she didn't want to leave Chaeyoung all of the sudden. Not when she was slowly gaining that confidence to be honest with how she felt.
She couldn't risk Chaeyoung losing her job because of her. Neither risk losing her parents' trust. She shut her eyes, eyebrow twitching. She made a fist, trembling from the repressed anger. She opened them, glaring at Mark through her eyebrows.
"Fine. You win." She turned a heel, ready to burst back inside but Mark held her shoulder. Mina tried her best to not shake his hand away. "What?"
"At least act like you love me." He cocked, leaning down to her level. "Be a good girl and give me a kiss." Mina wanted to puke. She visibly made a face of disgust and Mark held his phone. Mina couldn't believe that he was pulling a dick move. Getting whatever he wanted just because he could easily ruin Mina's life with a picture.
Mina held in her breath, giving him a quick peck on his lips. She turned away and this time Mark didn't stop her. He seemed satisfied with the weak kiss. Well, he definitely had something up his sleeve. Hence why he let Mina go this time.
Mina wiped her lips as she went up the steps, shutting the door with force as she ran up the stairs. As soon as she was inside her room, tears came down like a waterfall.
Her hands covered her face, shaking. She tried not to cry so loud, her throat closing in on her. She had enough strength to walk to her bed, crawling on it as she balled up. She buried her face on her pillow, hugging her knees. Her body trembled, broken breathing and her head began to hurt.
Why did this have to happen to her? Was this karma? Karma for being such a bitch to Chaeyoung when she first started? A bitch to Asa who was nothing but a maid who helped her? A bitch to Mark for leading him on? Maybe she did deserve this. Just like how she deserved to be cheated on. Deserved to not experience a happy love life.
She heard a quiet hum beside her. Lifting her head, she saw her phone buzzing, screen showing Sana's name. Almost as if her guardian angel was sent to her in the time of need.
Mina hesitated to answer, hiccuping as she watched the phone. Maybe Sana could help. Hell, she was so supportive when Mina told Sana the truth.
Mina answered the phone on the last ring, sniffing as she raised the device nearby her ear. "Hello?" Her voice hoarse.
"Mitang!" Sana's chirpy voice sung. "Wait, are you crying?! What happened?!" Mina weakly smiled, wiping her nose. "I'll beat up whoever made you cry Minari!"
"My hero." Mina cooed, sniffing after.
"Seriously though, what happened?"
Mina swallowed a lump. She hesitated to say anything. She had trouble opening up about this, especially since she felt like no one can help her. As if she was trapped and couldn't get out.
"Take your time Minari. I'm here for you." Sana gave Mina some time. She knew the younger wasn't good at expressing her emotions. But she did recognize the small changes in that. Mina was bold enough to tell her that she did in fact liked Chaeyoung.
Mina let out a shaky breath, finding courage to speak. "It's Mark." She simply said and Sana's mood shifted. "He... threatened me with a photo. I-I don't know when or where but he took a photo of me and Chaeyoung kissing. I begged him Sana... I tried to but he didn't give in..."
