"Pinky ! Get up mon morning light !"

My mom called out to me as she banged on the room door

I let out a heavy groan and covered my face with my blanket

The door then opened and I heard my family started singing.

"Happy birthday to you ! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Paige ..... Happy birthday to you!"

Sitting up on the bed, I pierced a wide smile on my face. My mother was holding a cake in her hand as she walked close to me

"Happy birthday Jellybean!"

She said as she kissed me on the cheek

My father came next to her and squeezed her arm and he wrapped his arm around her waist

I hugged both of them and told them thanks

My sister came over and sat right next to me on my bed

"Girl come off a me bed !"

I yelled as I pushed her off

She laughed and then asked

"Suh yuh man nuh tell yuh happy birthday yet ?"

I frowned and questioned how she had known that I had a boyfriend

She giggled and started to give me side eye

"Pinky yuh a 24 yah now, suh yuh mean fi tell me seh yuh naav nuh man"

Mommy then turned around and look at Brooklyn with a glare, she quickly shut up her mouth

"Umm... Brooklyn guh inna yuh room, yah get too prime inna dis, is like yuh forget seh yuh deh pon one strike suh nuh badda nuff up wid me."

She apologized but my mother was not having it with her so she silently left my room.
