Chapter 16: Emotions

Time has passed, and the situation hasn't changed one bit. Everything still remained in a state of chaos.

And then...

A sudden explosion came out of nowhere, destroying a huge part of the wrecked city.

Marshall rushed forward to Skye, and threw a powerful energy punch towards her face. Though, Skye had already seen that coming and deflected his fist to the side with her paw, making his punch miss her and unintentionally released a massive shockwave.

Within a split second, Skye struck him back with a quick punch to the chest, which caught him off guard as he got sent flying backwards by the force, crashing numerous large debris in the process.

Marshall grunted in pain as he felt his body got dragged across the rough ground before coming to a stop. Eventually, he heavily crashed onto a large rock behind him.

"What ridiculous power...!!" He muttered, thinking that he was slowly getting overwhelmed by the likes of the cockapoo.

"If that's the case..."

Marshall gradually stood back up on his paws, regaining his balance, and looked straight at the pink light in front of him, indicating the enemy's location, his one and only target.

Without a second of hesitation, he launched towards her with all of his strength, bursting forth at literal light speed while leaving grand explosions behind.

In an instant, he caught up to Skye.

Trying to confuse her, Marshall entered a portal right in front of her eyes, in an attempt to convince her that he was going for a surprise attack.

Marshall swiftly dashed through numerous portals, surrounding Skye at all sides. All Skye could see right now were rays of purple light shooting everywhere.

Still, with Skye now having the ability to see the future for a few seconds ahead, she knew what will happen next if she didn't act fast...

Skye focused her latent energy into her right fist, preparing for a devastating punch while waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Marshall exited the portal and found himself in the sky, then launched himself down towards the ground, accelerating himself more and more faster, like a flashing asteroid diving down from the sky.

He charged a purple energy punch, adding with the friction caused in the air, which turned his energy punch into sparks of bright fire.

Little did he know, Skye was waiting for him to use that dive-bomb attack.

Skye took off from the ground with a huge explosion, propelling herself towards Marshall at maximum speed.

She later combined her Fatal Twister punch technique along with Marshall's copied Nebula Flash into one move, as a counter that's enough to block his huge strike...

Once they got close, they collided their fists, releasing a gigantic wave of energy in the air and separated the clouds away from their reach, creating tremors and earthquakes all around the place.

They both struggled for a while trying to surpass each other's fist.

"DAMN YOU!!!" Marshall loudly groaned in pure rage, now having difficulty to even push Skye back despite putting all of his energy into his fist. "JUST GIVE UP ALREADY!!"

At that moment, something happened to Marshall, as his corrupted, dark purple eye started to glow and began shooting out purple light rays.

But even so, that happened for a brief moment and it turned back to its corrupted state right after. Still, Skye noticed that and understood what was up.
