Chapter 16: Secret Outings and Alexis regains her memory

James's POV
"We can't let anyone know about this" I said as I led Alexis out of the movie theater.
"Why? All I did was go to the movies with you" Alexis said rolling her eyes.
"Filip will kill me if he finds out I put my arm around you when that creepy dude was staring at you" I whispered.
"You were just trying to protect me" Alexis said gently. "I know, but Filip and the others might take it the wrong way" I retorted. Alexis bit down on her lip nervously. "What if they think I'm cheating on Filip?" Alexis asked with a worried expression on her face.
"They won't. They know that you're too young for me" I replied.
"No offense" I added quickly, not wanting to hurt her feelings.
Alexis shrugged and said" None taken. I know I'm only 19, and it would be kinda weird" I nodded and when we got to Shea's car that he let us borrow, we got in and drove away.

(Back at the house)

Filip's POV
"Where's Alexis?" I asked Shea, who was busy flipping through channels on the TV. "Oh she went out with James to the movies" He replied.
I felt a pang of jealously shoot through me. She went out with Nealer and didn't tell me? What if he kissed her?
Ugh! I thought running a hand through my hair. Suddenly, the door opened and Alexis and James came walking into the living room. "So how was the movie?" Shea asked as he turned his head to face them. "It was good" Alexis replied. "Filip, I didn't kiss James nor did he kiss me, if that's what you were wondering. He only put his arm around me because some perverted guy was staring at me for a whole five minutes. He was doing that to protect me. But, don't worry, I love you and not James. He's a great guy, but way too old for me. Plus, you know he's just a friend" Alexis said walking over to me and giving me a huge hug. I hugged Alexis back and told her that I trusted her. I need to stop overreacting, I thought.

(Later)

Alexis's POV
I meant what I said to Filip with my all my heart. James likes me as a sister, and Filip knows that. The harsh sun beat down on us as we made our way into the arena. The team was coming here for practice for tonight's game against Calgary. I sat in the sidelines watching the team skate around the rink shooting pucks. Suddenly, I felt a stinging pain shoot through my head.
I groaned and massaged my temple, trying to soothe it.
And that's when I passed out. Again.
Sigh.

(A/N: This is a rewritten version of the flashback Alexis had in a previous chapter, btw)

*Flashback*
Why does Bridgestone have to be so cold? I thought as I pulled my grey wool sweater tightly around me.
My feet made a soft thump noise as I walked down the long hallway to the Preds locker room. My mom told me to go and introduce myself to the players. To be honest, I was so nervous. What if they don't like me?
What if they aren't the same people who visit kids in hospitals and all the good stuff I hear about them?
A few seconds later, I found myself standing in front of a white door that had a sign on it that said" Preds Locker Room". I took a deep breath before opening the door. And I was a huge fan of hockey and loved the Preds. I knew all their names due to all the games I've been to.
Shea freaking Weber walked up to me and asked" Hi what's your name?"
"I'm Alexis and my parents work here. I just wanted to drop in and say hi" I replied smiling. Then, he hugged me and introduced me to the rest of the team. I ended up getting all their numbers and getting to know them all very well.

*Flashback ended*

Alexis's POV
I woke up lying down on the seats breathing heavily. I quickly sat up and looked at the rink. Thankfully, the team was still practicing. Phew, I thought breathing a sigh of relief.
I finally have my memory back.
It feels so good to know that I have it. I can't wait to tell the team.
